First, if millions saw that film over the weekend, why didn't more people shoot up theatres because of a violent movie? Second, why would a criminal care if a law banned buying certain weapons?

Agree, now is not the time to pile on gun control, as the UN treaty is being pushed. The question should be— why should the UN even be involved or considered in US gun policy.
