Danish MPs call Obama assassin over drones use
By: The Nation Monitoring | July 26, 2012
COPENHAGEN - Danish lawmakers are levelling unprecedented criticism at US President Barack Obama for his use of remote-controlled attack drones in Pakistan, Somalia and Yemen.
Rasmus Helveg Petersen, Radikale foreign policy spokesperson, told Politiken newspaper that Obamas actions mirror those of the terrorists he professes to be fighting against. Its terrible, said Petersen. The United States has no right to carry out these types of executions of suspected political adversaries. It contravenes international law.
Petersen added that executing political adversaries within another countrys borders was tantamount to terrorism. The comments came after Soren Pind, of the opposition party Venstre, in an interview with the magazine Ræson, likened the drone attacks to assassination. I criticised George Bush for allowing torture during his presidency, Pind told Politiken. But what he is doing is much worse and violates the principles of the Western world. Representatives from the far-left Enhedslisten joined in bashing the US president and said it would raise the issue with parliaments foreign policy committee. The attack drone issue has arisen following the disclosure of Obamas involvement in some 261 drone raids against suspected terrorists in Pakistan alone. During his eight years in office, President George W Bush approved a total of 45 drone attacks.

Believe in him or not. The White house insider called it again. When he basically said that Obama drools over these raids. That he is obsessed with executing and watching them.
Would he prefer we use atomic weapons instead? They’re a little messier.
It would be more worrisome if these dainty strikes were in the Bahamas, Greenland, Costa Rica or Tahiti where the odds of hitting some freedom-loving innocents are substantially higher.
Uh, those would be confirmed militants/terrorists. Of course, to a member of a party that calls itself Radikale they might be political buddies.
“Uh, those would be confirmed militants/terrorists.”
Guess it depends on which side of the drones you’re on.
One of the reasons captured pilots were tortured in North Vietnam was because none of the Geneva Conventions applied in a case where we sent bombers over there without something as basic as a declaration of war.
There are legal issues that have to be taken into consideration, not just moral ones; this really came to light when it was revealed that we had killed a US citizen over there. Raised questions about the whole due process, etc.

The drone raids are actually the only thing Obama did right. I would drools over those raids too. Actually I would order few more extra raids along with danish pastries for dessert.
In other news, a series of unexplained explosions took place in Copenhagen today...
“if these dainty strikes were in the Bahamas, Greenland, Costa Rica or Tahiti where “
And then Greenland actually belongs to the Danes....so yeah more worrisome.
