Technically, it is Jeanette Fardelins children who are the bona fide modern-day miracles. Conceived on the same day but born six years apart thanks to the wonders of IVF and the deep freeze the five Fardelin siblings are quintuplets for our age.
But any working mum spending an afternoon with Jeanette and her brood would leave their neat Liverpool home concluding that she is the extraordinary one. How does she do it? (And by it, I dont mean pop out five matching babies in six years. That one can be scientifically explained).
The result? Five little miracles born five years apart.
It is only three weeks since she had the last of her children, twins. This is normally the point at which new mums have that stunned, wild-eyed look and can still be found in their dressing gowns at teatime.
