Skip to comments.York: If Obama wins, look for expansion of federal dole

Three examples. First, on July 12, the Obama administration issued a directive that could result in the removal of the work requirement from the landmark 1996 welfare reform law. The work requirement was the heart of that reform, and removing it would mean, in the words of conservative welfare expert Robert Rector, the end of welfare reform as we know it. It will likely also mean more people on welfare, should Barack Obama who has opposed welfare reform from the very beginning win a second term.
Second, the Obama administration has made a far-reaching effort to increase the number of Americans on food stamps. As National Reviews Rich Lowry reported recently, the number of Americans on food stamps has gone from 17 million in 2000 to 30 million in 2008 to 46 million today. That increase is far more than is warranted by the economic downturn.
The Obama administration wants that number to go even higher. To cite one example, the Agriculture Department which now spends two-thirds of its budget on food stamps and other welfare programs created an aggres- sive Spanish-language outreach program to encourage immigrants, whether legal or not, to enroll for food stamps. (Lest anyone put all the blame on Obama, it should be said that former President George W. Bush also increased the number of Americans on food stamps, one of a number of Bush initiatives that made him unpopular with conservatives.)
Finally, a key purpose of Obamacare is to increase the number of Americans covered by Medicaid, the federal health system for the poor. Obamacare expands Medicaid coverage to those with up to 133 percent of poverty-level income; for the first few years at least, all the extra cost will be paid by the federal government.

Hey Byron....it's NOT the federal government paying for this....it's INDIVIDUAL TAXPAYERS, you know....the RICH PEOPLE!
No big deal right?
After all, no matter what we have witnessed in the past 3 1/2 years that this FASCIST, Neo-Commie, Hate-America, POS, Scumbag has done and based upon his own words, what he WILL do if reelected, we also know (from the handful of Mitt and Mormon Haters here) that Romney "will" do the same--or be even worse--so we might as well just all stay home or vote 3rd party.
Yep, let's all have a nice big glass of Hemlock (or Kool Aid) and sign on to their "suicide pact."
So sorry, no can do!
While (yes, admittedly) the flip-flopping, RINO, Mittens "MIGHT" embrace and advance some (or even all) of Dear Leader's agenda and programs, we (and that includes those Freeps who keep delusionally comparing Romney with Beelzebub, unless they have a crystal ball) don't know for sure.
On the other hand, we can say with 100% certainty what we we can expect under the B. Hussein Obama Regime and it ain't purty or healthy for the survival of our Republic or augur well for us Cons.
The work program for the Welfare people really hasn’t worked that well anyway, They aren’t working.
Obama won’t be happy until Socilism and Communism are running this country,
Give him another 4 years and he should be able to see that we are all good little Commies.
Unarmed, broke, starving, and working for the Government or not working at all.
Shut your mouth, those aren’t Chicago or Boston values you’re expressing.
I think that's probably true, and has led to the explosion of disability claims/ payments. And once you're on disability you have a perceived huge stake in remaining on it, as you trade off benefits for every dollar you do work to earn, at least above some threshold. Leads to a lot of under the table jobs too.
Hate-filled ideologues like Obama do not like the concept of ‘charity’, because charity suggests that those who have, and who are doing the giving, are good hearted people trying to do the right thing, and are worthy of thanks. Obama and his ilk prefer to label those who would give voluntarily as selfish and overly fortunate, not worthy of a thanks, but deserving of the disdain of society and the confiscation of what they have by their own government.
“I think that’s probably true, and has led to the explosion of disability claims/ payments.”
Don’t know if this is true or not, but what I see is that a significant number of people who come in asking for medical justification for disability are the ones who aren’t genuinely disabled, whereas many of those who could legitimately qualify don’t ask for it.
The biggest problem is that it’s easy for it to become the ticket to ride, long term/lifetime.
Just shut up and maintain your place in line to board the railway car. Next stop Re-education Camp. If you don’t toe the line there is another trip via rail to...
Oh, hell, you know where. /s
So he's been told. He has no personal experience of working hard in his life.
There’s a tipping point - a point where people working will start feeling like they’re the chumps. When that happens the whole mess will flip on a dime. We’ll BE the old soviet union... we’ll BE East Germany before the fall... we’ll be any number of third world hellholes...
