Seems like he considered the dogs as nothing more than a piece of equipment,,,like his badge or nightstick. And at the end, those poor dogs were probably calling out to their “friend” for help.

Makes me think what type of person would do this. The dogs were trained to protect him... give their life for him if necessary. Their death was nothing short of agony. IMHO, the cop should lose his job. If he was this irresponsible... why does he deserve a badge? The cop was given the opportunity to be a K9 officer and cost the taxpayers a lot of money (added to pain and suffering the dogs went through). Just my two cents...
