PING for later viewing. I’m recording it when it replays at 2:30 a.m. here, so I’ll come back and see what y’all said about it.

They didnt really go back into showcasing British history as China did with theirs.

It was more pop culture centered. I was surprised that their was no Monty Python, Austin Powers or Dr. Who appearances.

I turned it on and then turned it off. Why does each country have to top the last one in these openings? Let the athletes march proudly in with their flags, and get on with it. (Scrooge that I am)

I kind of like it so far....NBC’s blathering notwithstanding.

A lot of people raved about Beijing....while visually impressive, the people looked like mindless robots....this is much more “human.”

Good thing they ignored idiots like matt lauer back then.....Someone like Obama would have been around to tell the factory owner “You didn’t build that!”.

Hey, one of the Abe Lincoln impersonators read some Shakespeare. I think that was supposed to cover a lot of territory.

During the BBC broadcast there was no commentary. What a pleasure that was. As opposed to the Nothing But Commentary network.

I’m liking it to. Reminds me of the pace of the director’s movies.
