UN Arms Treaty Dead
The Washington Times ^ | July 27, 2012 | James S. Robbins

Talks over the UN Arms Trade Treaty fell apart today, effectively killing the agreement. The Arms Trade Treaty Legal Blog reports that the process seemed to be moving to completion when the United States requested an extension to the time to negotiate the agreement. This opened the door to other countries to begin registering objections, and it soon became clear that reaching agreement within the allowed timeframe would be impossible. The proposed treaty, which raised considerable domestic opposition from gun rights advocates in the United States, died before it had a chance to become a threat. As a delegate from China observed, "C'est la vie et la vie c'est ça."

Thanks for posting that, I wasn’t aware it was dead... And, it happened on my birthday, too! That’s a nice unexpected gift! LOL (Well, dead for the time being I guess...)

This proves the primary objective was to disarm US citizens.

It’s okay to be optimistic, just not complacent. Remember when ObamaCare was declared dead after a summer of protests - and then “deemed passed” in the middle of the night? We are facing pure evil, and we have to stay involved and keep the pressure on the far left.

They were successful in that they used our money to fund this BS treaty. During the whole process I am sure, again at our expense, they stayed at lavish hotels and had drinks and younge boys, I mean, “meetings” plus they get a lot of PR from the world media.

The UN is a lose/lose proposition for the US of A. Just like our Prezbo.

I LIKE that idea.

I have been to both the UN and Chick-Fil-A.

I was treated so much better at the latter, so I prefer it to that monstrosity.

They have postponed it so Obama can sign it after the election.

Doesn't matter - treaty requires a 2/3 supermajority vote in the Senate to be ratified.

Good

For now.

The *ssholes will be back, though.

And we’re STILL not giving them up when they do come back.

Unfortunately, this is NEVER going to go away. This is just a temporary set-back for the gun grabbers.

Exactly. They'll re-organize and come back under a new cover.

For the love of God people, this isn't over!!! Stay Awake because the enemy never sleeps!!!!!!!!!!
