Illinois Congressman Jesse Jackson Jr., whose whereabouts haven't been disclosed since he mysteriously took a medical leave several weeks ago, is being treated for depression at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., according to a statement Friday from the hospital.
Jackson is undergoing an extensive inpatient evaluation for depression and for gastrointestinal issues, according to the statement, which also provided the first details about his medical condition. But it provided no details about where the congressman, the son of civil rights leader Jesse Jackson, had previously been staying.
[Snip]
The timing of [Jackson's] leave has raised questions, in part because Jackson is facing an ethics investigation in the U.S. House connected to imprisoned former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich.

The ham of mine is now at the Mayo ... and will stay there until he dries out ... sobers up ... and gets over his sour mood caused by those #*$%& Pubs investigating him for trying to buy a senate seat.
What happened? Did he find out where Obama was born?
Those symptoms indicate a clear cut case of CRI, a “Cranial-Rectal Inversion”.
He finally realized who and what his father is.
Does he own any firearms? Bought large quantities of ammo online?..........
Despite our political and social differences, I believe one MUST exhibit compassion for another’s personal plight. As an elected representative, however, that individual must consider his obligations to his constituents...
;^)
At least he’s not a Kennedy. He’s alive.
It’s very serious when someone is put in a mental hospital for so long. I know he’s a flaming racist liberal, a chip off shake’em down Jesse’s block, but I feel bad for him. He’s needs to get well soon, so I can pick on him again.
Connect them all with Michael Jackson and we will get a TV series.
Jesse jr. apparently had a total nervous breakdown and almost surely a suicide attempt. His problem is very serious given that he is in the Mayo clinic and has been out of sight for a long time.
On a personal level I wish him well and a full recovery. As a public matter he has no business being an elected legislator with responsibilities ranging from taxing and spending laws to war resolutions. Then again, he is a democrat...
yep, intestinal blockage from having his head up his ass for so long...
Churchill’s black dog
“I don’t like standing near the edge of a platform when an express train is passing through. I like to stand right back and if possible get a pillar between me and the train. I don’t like to stand by the side of a ship and look down into the water. A second’s action would end everything. A few drops of desperation.” - Winston Churchill (1874-1965)
Churchill made frequent references to his depression, which he called his “black dog”.
My oldest son is sometimes stricken with inexplicable bouts of depression to the point of being disabling. Mood elevators offer some relief.
Needs to be removed from the house and indited. He is corrupt as his father and needs to be in jail. this crap of being rtreated for anything is just a front. Another dirt bag from the leftist communist party.

yep
There is heavy smoke with Young Jesse and trying to buy the senate seat and his involvement with Blagojevich. The fire is smoldering but given that it is Chicago and Jesse sr. is very powerful there, I don’t see an indictment for Young Jesse.
I think his breakdown, likely suicide attempt are real. I think he realizes he is only a shadow of his corrupt father and not up to life in the major leagues of political corruption.
“intestinal issues”...also known as alcoholic gastritis
Just knowing that you are a “Jackson” is enough of a reason to go crazy. Like father (forget the other son), like son.
An optimist huh... ;^)
He is currently one less vote for the wrong side. I hope he gets re-elected and then spends the next few years recuperating somewhere other than DC.
gee thanks.
Well at least that other Jackson family is normal. Oh wait...
Helping the poor has been very, very good for these Jacksons. Isn’t it amazing how rich and famous you can get when you help the poor?
I thought Black people didn’t like Mayo? :)
He won't resign until he's sold the seat.
yitbos
Finally got one of "his people" into the White House and sees what a dismal failure is the result, how unlikely it is to happen again, and how much of a setback it is to race relations in the country (does Jackson real care?).
I'd be depressed, too!
He got caught.
He is facing prison time and should be “depressed”.
Yeah, Jesse Jr. has depression brought on by gastric bypass surgery?
And I am tall dark and handsome and wear size 13 shoes.
Jesse Jr. is a crack head.
Speaking of crack-heads, what in the heck is Rahmbo smokin’ lately? Compare his latest pictures to those just two years ago and he takes on the look of the sequence mug shots of Meth-heads. The guy looks like he was rode hard and put away wet for months and then followed up by a fire hose to try and make him look good.
So, has he gone untreated for so long and now he will simply need Zoloft, Abilify etc and he will be fine? ( the late/ while he was alive) Mike Wallace had PSAs for this?
He sure seems to be “acting white”.
I wonder if us “normal people” would even be considered for admission to the Mayo clinc so someting as silly as depression.
As you suggest (?) great Congress health care.
For everyone , if luckyy you talk to a certified counselor 40 minutes a week. Take the medication. Simple. Unless severe depression needs to get controlled. Suicide thoughts or attempts ?
Ole Rahm has found that being mayor of chicago is no picnic and under his, “leadership” the city has gone in the toilet. How many killings a day are they averaging?
Amen Brother.
You got that right.
Another question would be...... how many businesses have failed or departed Chicago?
In another article, it was reported that his condition was directly attributed to a bypass surgery he supposedly underwent.
My bet is the old man and his spawn smells money and a court case against the doctor and hospital will soon be in the news.
JJJr, enjoying the benefits of the Congressional health plan....Mayo Clinic and almost two months of sick leave already. It is good to be special.
So the treatment was more or less successful at the original residential facility, and now they can move him to a place where he’ll pass the blood and urine screens while they try to get him cured, rather than just clean?
Virginia Mayo had the best legs in the history of Hollywood.
Any pictures of her eating a Mayo Sandwich?
