Exclusive: Matt Barber on 'gay' activists: 'They've picked a fight they cannot win'
WND Commentary ^ | July 28 2012 | Matt Barber

Posted on 07/28/2012 9:22:39 AM PDT by scottjewell

... The Jim Henson Company ...has severed promotional ties with Chick-fil-A – . . .

Their crime? Failure to obey the nauseating, mind-numbing dictates of political correctness.

Dan Cathy . . . recently made a few innocuous public comments in support of legitimate marriage – sentiments the vast majority of morals-minded Americans happen to agree with...

That’s the thing... about political correctness. It exists in the realm of fantasy...

They float the propagandist idiom “marriage equality” – choosing all the while to ignore objective “marriage reality.”

So-called “same-sex marriage”? A counterfeit... “Gay marriage” is no more real marriage then a rotten apple is an orange.

It’s unavoidable. Marriage is, by definition, the joining of two complementary opposites – two “others.”

“Gay marriage” is mock marriage. It’s fantasy – a dead end. Even a child knows this intuitively and, in their heart-of-hearts, lefties and “gay” activists know it, too. That’s why they respond so violently when people snicker at it or, as in the case of Dan Cathy, even respectfully acknowledge that it’s not grounded in reality...

The wonderful thing about liberals is that they almost universally overplay their hand. They respond to “inconvenient truths” with hysterical, reactionary overreach. There’s been a magnificent backlash from their attacks on Chick-fil-A. They’ve picked a fight they cannot win.. .

Is that why they're called 'chicken hawks'?

This is getting into dangerous territory.

We’re saying that, unless you are on the liberal side of some divisive issue, that you will not be allowed to operate a business in liberal paradises such as Boston and Chicago??? Do we really want to go there????

Have the liberals truly gone over the edge on this one? They think that you should not be allowed to be in business unless you are liberal. I’m usually not shocked by liberal logic, but this liberal reasoning has me shocked.

And I’m shocked that they are pushing mainstream acceptance of such a tactic, of denying business permits and such, to punish businesses which are not liberal.

Yes, it is shocking.

But as Barber points out, it is actually a good thing that they have overplayed their hand. They’ve accidentally revealed to the whole public just how fascist their tendencies really are...

Disagree. They are winning the culture war. Movies and tv celebrate them.

Chilling effect on speech is the goal. Opposing gay agenda in Amy way will one day be illegal hate speech.

Today will be my first time eating at Chick-Fil-A. Gonna make the 75 mile round trip to the nearest one and give them my support.

Side note, will not be shopping at the conveniently located Target near my house, but will drive the extra 10 miles to hit up Walmart.

So,I guess gay activism does produce results.

You are right. For 80 years, five steps left, one step right. People who believe in bedrock principals of liberty and freedom — individualism, marriage, family, self-worth, limited government, God — are derided as “extreme.” We’ve let the enemy take over and control everything.

I agree with you, but the problem in this case is that they've "planted their flag" on an issue where they've taken a side that is utterly repulsive even to many people who support them from a purely partisan political standpoint. Opposition to the "normalization" of homosexuality is so deep-rooted that it brings out strong support from a lot of people who might be largely non-political on most other issues.

They are winning the culture war. Movies and tv celebrate them.

You're kind of making my point. Network television is disappearing before our eyes, and Hollywood movie studios are not exactly strong business models to begin with. You can go to any neighborhood in America and observe a group of pre-teen boys walking home from school or playing sports in a park. The terms "fag" and "faggot" are used almost universally even among kids at that young age as the ultimate insult to any of their peers who acts like a jack@ss or steps out of line in any way. Nothing Hollywood or mass media does can ever change that.

That may appear to be so, but don’t discount that they’ve also pissed off a lot of people to the point where they are now inclined to push back, whereas before they were merely indifferent. Turning an indifferent person into an upset, active foe is not a victory.

Odd since Target was subject to a boycott by Lefty activists a couple of years ago for supporting a conservative politician in MN.

This is not to say Target is anti-gay (or pro-gay), but I think they try to be neutral. Most companies have the sense to steer their ship clear of those sorts of rocks. Only entertainment companies have the gall to do so, but then that workforce tends to be over represented by those light in the loafers.

I was watching this controversy all over the news yesterday. I told Hubby they should just say....okay you win, we are leaving. Quit fighting it, let the liberal asshats see how well they do without all the producers money. Pick up and leave to someplace friendly to your values, businesses and people.

Gays can start a franchise to counter called ‘Cheek-full-gAy’. Sure to be a smashing hit down at SF’s Castro District.

Print ads portraying same sex wedding registries seems like promotion to me. Guess it's all in how you view it.

Liberals are trying to make homosexuality omnipresent in virtual media, because it is so socially insignificant in reality. It can’t be easy taking 2 percent of the population, (even when the president is one of them) and creating an image of political force. The left has to take every opportunity that presents itself to get homosexuality in our face. One would think it is raining queers. It is an attempt to shame Americans out of our values and moral absolutes, to soften us up for tyranny. Resistance may not be futile, but the left will do everything in their power to make it brutal. Just say no to gay marriage. Fact is, you will be saying yes to what a vast majority of Americans think, even if it doesn’t saturate the media.

Gays and lezzies need the other sex to reproduce. If they think they are even with male and female marriage, let them reproduce together without help. Let the man on man and the woman on woman reproduce a child. THEN they could say they were even and the same. Simply put, The Lord said it was an abomination to Him. He said it, I believe it. Thus, at the Great White Throne of Judgment, they will answer for it. Liberal do not believe in God because they do not want to admit that they are actually under His control. But, as Scripture says, every, and that is EVERY knee shall bow and every mouth shall confess that HE is LORD! That simple. Liberal, in the end, will HAVE TO ADMIT He is who He said He is. Because of their unbelief, they are destine to eternal hell with their pal satan.

Liberal logic makes even less sense when you consider they will welcome anti-gay Muslim-run businesses with open arms.

Makes your head spin. No wonder they never use logic in a debate.

Haven’t seen any of those. Yes, I would find such disturbing. Guess it depends on locations. Stores often try to cater to local sensibilities.

Then again, I also don’t really read any print ads so I’m not well informed in that area. Don’t get the local paper, and throw out the flyers in my mail without looking at them. I find those policies are generally better for my tranquility.
