Child With Gay Parents Can’t Enroll At School (ABQ Christian School)
The Albuquerque Journal ^ | July 28, 2012 | Hailey Heinz

Posted on 07/28/2012 8:35:55 PM PDT by CedarDave

A local Christian school that has refused to enroll a student in its pre-K program because his parents are gay is violating the New Mexico Human Rights Act, the family’s attorney contends.

Attorney Shane Youtz, who represents the family, said the couple received a letter from Hope Christian school saying their three-year-old son would not be able to enroll because of his parents’ sexual orientation.

An official from Hope Christian – which received $61,455 in public, federal funding for the current budget year – declined to comment.

Youtz said the family hopes the school will change its mind, and that the matter can be resolved without litigation.

The New Mexico Human Rights Act prohibits discrimination in employment, housing and “public accommodations.” It also bans discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation.

The statute allows religious-based organizations to discriminate on that basis, but not if they have a nonprofit status.

Hope is a nonprofit, so Youtz contends the school must admit the student.

Jeez. Is this homosexual agendy really accelerating? Or are they just reporting it more to demoralize people. It seems this perverted filthy lifestyle is going to be shoved down our throats whether we like it or not.

These people have proven they will not live and let live.

Amen to that. They are using a two-pronged attack in their attempt to destroy Christianity, almost the only entity left which opposes their evil (Islam is the other one but they know better than to mess with people who will behead them as soon as look at them)-they attack Christianity from without with their relentless lawsuits and smears, and from within by eating out the substance, like termites, of apostate "churches".

So does 501(c)3 status.

I believe that religious organizations should not be registered with the IRS or any government organization. They should be tax-free not “non-profit as determined by IRS”

Fortunately God has said that they will not prevail. I believe that as their time grows short, their rebellion and fury intensifies. They are being used of Satan unless they repent.

These two bastard “parents” did this to coerce a Christian institution go against scriptures.

I am sick and tired of gays doing this crap. There are more than enough gay friendly schools for them, but they target Christina schools on purpose. They can go to hell as far as I am concerned, especially when these abortion-loving scum use a child as a prop.

Why are you conflicted? As a parent who will answer the forms as to why you should enroll your child into a school that IS NOT conflicted about the role of Christ, Lord have mercy!

The letter should have been one letting them know that while the Christian school would be willing to accept the child, they would not be changing their pro traditional marriage perspective and that they explicitly teach that homosexuality is a sinful lifestyle.

As such the parents may wish to enroll in some other program more in line with their chosen lifestyle so as not to confuse the child.

Put it on record and in writing that they acknowledge the school uses a Bible based curriculum and that they agree to not interfere or object to it if they wish to enroll a child.

They won’t enroll and they won’t have grounds to sue.

My guess if it’s federal money is that it’s for the school lunch or breakfast program. There’s not much federal money for private schools, vouchers are typically state level.

is this just a setup? Why would 2 gay people want their child to be taught that homosexuality is an abomination in the eyes of God etc?

Just seems to me they may be trouble makers looking for a law suit? Pushing their agenda

You are almost certainly correct. It is a setup. This is how the Left gets its way in court -- by manufacturing court cases based on phony incidents.

The first case I'm aware of was the Scopes "monkey trial." Unlike the Hollywood version of the story in "Inherit the Wind," Scopes was not an idealistic young teacher. No, Scopes was member of a group that plotted to get himself, Scopes, arrested. The purpose was to manufacture a court case that would make headlines for the atheist Left.

Same thing happened with Griswold v Connecticut, in which a case was manufactured so that a "right to privacy" could suddenly be found in the Constitution, where it had never been found before.

Same thing happened with Roe v. Wade, in which a phony rape story was manufactured so that a "right to abortion" could suddenly be found in the Constitution.

Same thing happened with Bowers v Hardwick, the case that resulted in the courts throwing out all states' sodomy laws.

All of those cases were set-up by the Left.

The "fed money" malarkey is just a red herring - everyone uses federally funded infrastructure and resources in everyday life. That doesn't mean we have to relinquish the PRACTICE of our personal, deeply held beliefs.

You know the only reason those parents want their child enrolled there is to make a point. Poor kid being used by his parents for such.

“The homos are truly evil and determined to force Christianity to the wall.”

You don’t have to remind me. I work in Hollywood right in a faggot-infested area called West Hollywood. A bunch of sick, abnormal and immoral bunch.

Don’t take one thin dime of fed funds or they will force you to sing their tune

There is no such thing as a “gay parent”-
A parent begets, has offspring, has issue, by definition.
Gays can`t beget crap.

It might be a stretch and I may be all wrong but I see this happening more and more in states that want a voucher program. Those that provide the money make the rules.

This story actually reinforces exactly what this Christian school knew to begin with, that any dealings with homosexuals are statistically more likely to end up with a lawsuit. Again, to employers, renters, business proprietors... have a cover story rehearsed so it just rolls off the tongue.
