In online chat, Brown is brought into Chick-fil-A fray

Senator Scott Brown, who has earned kind words from Boston Mayor Thomas M. Menino despite their differing political parties, treaded carefully Friday when asked during a Boston.com chat about the mayor’s spat with Chick-fil-A over its opposition to gay marriage.

“I disagree with what the CEO from Chick-fil-A said. I was glad he spoke further and said that his company does not discriminate,” Brown wrote from his South Boston campaign headquarters.

Noting that Massachusetts has strong antidiscrimination laws that could prevent problems should the company decide to set up shop in Boston, Brown added, “If they move forward with the location proposal, I trust the mayor and other officials will ensure that those laws are honored.”

Chick-fil-A President Dan Cathy said this week that his privately owned company is “guilty as charged” in support of what he called the biblical definition of the family unit.

The Boston Globe:

Dan Cathy, president of the Atlanta-based company, told the Baptist Press earlier this month that Chick-fil-A is “guilty as charged” for being a supporter of organizations rallying against same-sex marriage.

Pure BS from the Globe.

Yes, they put the spin on it that will put the gays in the victim light and make the religious person look oppressive.

bROWN IS A rrrrrriiiiiiinnnnnnnOOOOOOOO!!!!

That he is, but he's about as close to Conservative as we're going to get out of Massachusetts.

Brown isn't anywhere close to being conservative. He is as close to being "conservative" as the moon is (sometimes) closer than the Earth to the Sun.

The only victory in that election was the symbolic replacing of a "D" with an "R" - that's it.

It appears you and I are in agreement on this, just saying it differently.

You're right, just stay home. Oh, that's right, you're in Illinois. Elizabeth Warren makes Dick Durbin look like Strom Thurmond.

How hard would it have been to simply say “everyone is entitled to an opinion”?

Hey Rahm!!!

You think all those black churches in Chicago are preaching the gay beatitudes... Blessed are they who enter from behind, for they shall inherit marital fabulousness? Are the black preachers preaching “Chicago values”? If not... WuddaYaGonnaDoBoutIt?

Unfortunately, I believe what you said is true. To the commies in MA, he is a right-wing political hack, and extreme at that. Yep, I’m afraid he’s the best we can do from that state. I wish the flaming libs would have a state of their own and leave the rest of us alone.

Brown is such a cowardly scumbag...

He gets an opening like that blows it. Instead of simply responding, “In America a private citizen can run his company however he wants to, and he can support whatever causes he wants to support as long as he obeys the law,” Brown decides he has to pander to the radical homosexual lobby. Yikes.

Just what basis does Scott Brown have to support the marraige between two people of the same sex? Is it just because it is the popular thing to say like, ‘I love Pet Rocks.'

Wasn't Brown formerly a model? I suspect he's played "Hide the baloney" with the boys a few times.
