WELL DONE, MITT! As Governor Of Mass, Romney Banned The Assault Weapon Used In The Colorado Massacre

In 2004, as Governor of Massachusetts, Mitt Romney banned the sale of assault weapons like the one used to spray 50-60 bullets a minute in the Colorado massacre.
On FOX News, Romney explained his position as follows:
"I believe the people should have the right to bear arms, but I dont believe that we have to have assault weapons as part of our personal arsenal."
That seems like a perfectly reasonable position, no?
(Seriously: Do we really need to be able to buy and own these things? Is that really in the best interests of our society? Really?)
Unfortunately, in the intervening years, Romney has flip-flopped and now supports the sale of assault weapons like the one used in the Colorado massacre.
But the families of those who were shot and killed in the theater can presumably take some comfort from the fact that Romney was against these guns before he was for them.

It would seem our so-called conservative media refuses to provide a full and complete airing of Mitt Romney’s record because he is the presumptive GOP Nominee.
What we are left with is ammunition that the Left-wing media will be only too happy to use against both Mitt Romney and the GOP.

Excellent quotes, all exactly on point of the problem, specifically the direction of the US is towards less freedom and the only thing under discussion is the speed at which we will arrive at the goal of the lib-progs.

I have yet to see any weapon commit an assault on anyone or thing..
I have seen them used by HUMANS to commit assaults though.
Take a weapon away from those intent on using them in the wrong way and they will simply find a new weapon to use.

Yup, but Mitt apparently agrees with the left-wing that you and I don't need "Scary-looking" "Assault" weapons.
Mitt apparently also disagrees with the idea tha the 2nd Amendment was put their to protect the rights of the OWNERS of the Government to take the government back if it is no longer listening.
Or, in other words, that the 2nd Amendment was meant to put the fear of the citizens in the minds of the those in the Government.

I am voting Obama OUT! We’ll deal with Mitt next. Leave Obama in and reap the wirlwind. He has no respect for the Constitution or the power of any other arm of government or the people. Mitt at the very least does. We cannot win this all at once. The history of this great experiment known as the USA teaches us that that all change is slow. Like turning the Titanic. Mitt is maybe 40% better. The 40% will turn the Titanic away from the iceburg and give us a chance. Putting Obama in again is like setting off a collective nuke.

I have become a solid Mitt supporter. He is seriously starting to hammer away at the real issues.

Romney does not hate my country. He was my 2nd to the last choice for the nomination, but Romney is night and day better than Obama.
The best way to save my country, at this point in history, is to defeat Obama by any means necessary under the law.
If that means a President Romney, so be it! And then -—
We protect ourselves from any Romney mistakes with a CONSERVATIVE HOUSE and a CONSERVATIVE SENATE!

All the GOP-E views will become the Republican platform. They will use your vote to prove that that is what grassroots Republicans want.

Are you folks aware that Henry Blodget, the author of this piece, and founder of Business Insider, is a die-hard liberal Democrat and big Obama and DNC funder? He is also the same Henry Blodget who is BANNED FOR LIFE from the securities industry and paid a $2 million fine due to securities fraud relating to his public recommendations of dot-com stocks which he simultaneously trashed in private emails to top Merill Lynch clients - leading millions to invest in those stocks, losing billions when the bottom fell out of the stocks he pumped and (privately) dumped.
Blodget is a scumbag of the lowest order, and I hereby propose a BAN on at the very least his posts, and preferably the entire Business Insider faux site, which pimps liberal propaganda. Why help Blodget make money with our clicks?

That buys into the fact we are done fighting. It's just begun.
The one thing I've learned about Mitt in 30 years of watching him is he will do anything to please the +1 majority. We need to make sure so long as he's there (if)that we push him in our direction and keep winning house and senate seat both local and national to write the legislation and gut this government to the core.
On another subject. Have you ever heard Rush say that Mitt told him personally he does not intend to go down as failing this country. Historically even with only one term he wants to gut the government at every level except military and where deemed constitutional.
To: SoConPubbie
It took the Progressives a century to bring us to this point, we are not going to undo what they have done to this country in a single generation.
We are going to have failures like Romney in this war to reclaim our country. We have to endure and try harder the next time to get a truly liberty loving candidate.
We have to bite the bullet and vote for this wishy washy moderate Republican because there is more at stake than just the Presidency.
We have the House to keep and the Senate to take. Doing those two things is much more difficult if our Presidential candidate does not have strong support.
I despise Romney as much as you do but I will support him for the sake of the long road ahead. I despised McCain and I worked for him because I see that this is but a small battle in a long war of ideas and ideals. We can not win the war if we are constantly at war with our selves.

Henry Blodget? Is he even allowed to buy a gun himself?
* "Henry Blodget (born 1966) is an American former equity research analyst, currently banned from the securities industry, who was senior Internet analyst for CIBC Oppenheimer during the dot-com bubble and the head of the global Internet research team at Merrill Lynch. Blodget is now the editor and CEO of The Business Insider, a business news and analysis site, and a host of Yahoo Daily Ticker, a finance show on Yahoo."
"In 2002, then New York State Attorney General Eliot Spitzer, published Merrill Lynch e-mails in which Blodget gave assessments about stocks which conflicted with what was publicly published. In 2003, he was charged with civil securities fraud by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. He agreed to a permanent ban from the securities industry and paid a $2 million fine plus a $2 million disgorgement."
I'm not sure I'd rely on Blodget's opinion about much of anything, including the weather outside, unless I saw it for myself.
