NYC City Council Speaker Christine Quinn is urging New York University, which rents space to the city's only Chick-fil-A restaurant, to kick the franchise off its campus because of its support for anti-gay causes.
Says Quinn, in part, in a letter sent today to NYU President John Sexton:
NYC is a place where we celebrate diversity. We do not believe in denigrating others...As you know from recent press coverage, the President of Chick-fil-A continues to make statements and support causes that are clear messages of extreme intolerance and homophobia and a belief that LGBT Americans are less than others and deserve to be treated as such.
Let me be clear -- I do not want establishments in my city that hold such discriminatory views.
I urge you to sever your relationship with the Chick-fil-A establishment that exists on your campus. This establishment should be replaced with an establishment where the ownership does not denigrate a portion of our population.

Liberals to the rest of the world “free speech, we got it and you dont.”
what unmitigated histrionics!
Are they going to kick the Moslems off campus, too?
After all, Mohamhead taught that homos should be put to death.
A good reason for a university to be free of public money. Imagine this request going to a college like Hillsdale.
The defacto mayor exercising her defacto power.
Hello? Is that the Open Minded And Tolerant Left attempting to ban more things and people with which they disagree?
As my mother used to say: “Who died and left you boss of the world?” Diversity? What a joke.
These people are insane.
According to Change.org, students at the University of North Texas, the University of New Orleans, Mississippi State University, Gainesville State College, Indiana University and Texas Tech University have all launched petitions calling for the removal of a Chick Fil A location.
Much better article now.
Next thing on her agenda is probably circumcision ~
There’s always somebody wanting to get something off campus. IU Women would be much better off banning STDs I”ll tell you, particularly the Leftwingtardettes!
Liberal Fascists.
:-) 'Tis exactly what it would be, a request.
Lib: "I request that you kick Chick-fil-a off your campus."
Private School: "I like to eat there. Go hug a tree."
And that, as they say, would be that. Unfortunately with NYU, when someone else pays the piper, they get to call the tune.
I think it is a good thing that this has all come out in the open. As posted above, there are numerous colleges and Universities around the nation now launching petitions on change.org to have their campus Chick-Fil-As removed.
What is this but an unmasking of their real goal and real deepest agenda?
As I said, it is a good thing this Chick-Fil-A incident has come about, because it has made things clear now, quite clear.
CFA should move all their stores from liberal campuses. I know CFA helps a lot of colleges with free food for events. Let people (probably mostly students) lose their jobs. Who cares? CFA will do fine without the left. I would bet their sales have gone up considerably since the idiots started this war.
I really don’t like liberals. At all.
And don’t forget the Nation of Islam and Rev. Wright from the Church of What’s Happenin’ Now. These are in-your-face anti-Semitic groups who are given a total free pass by the libs, the Jews and the Press.
This is how socialism works folks, a liberal is
elected to a minor public office then uses her
position to expound and demand action on something
that doesn’t concern her but furthers the socialist
agenda, all in the name of the “People”.
1- IF this action is taken, Cathy should sue.
2 - When will NYC close all of the Mosques?
You keep using the word intolerance. I do not think it means what you think it means.
