Folks, we’re beginning to sound like some OWS sour grapes out there.
First question we ought to ask — WHO PAID FOR THE JACKET?
Did she use her own money, or tax payer money?
If the former, why should we care?
A fuss should only be made if she used our money.
So, which is it?
I agree with your comments.
Typically clothes like this are provided gratis by the designers to get publicity.
I know this will be difficult for a lot of FReepers to believe, but on the site for 20-somethings that I troll undercover, MooseChelle is still quite admired.
Politicians get to write off their clothing as a business expense. They come free with the house.
OR, they can except "gifts" from political "friends."
(I'm surprised Moochell didn't demand the queen give her - as a gift, of course - the royal crown. Does the queen not realize who she is???)
There is a third part to that question, did someone else pay all or part of what the jacket is worth?

That’s how I feel too. As long as it wasn’t my money I could give a fidge less what her clothes cost.
Of course it is a bit hypocritical for the Obama campaign to try to tell Romney where to put his money while they spend $6800 on a blouse.
valid point.
but, what about the money she “earned”
because of her raise after her husband became senator?
...in an “important” job,
the hospital didn’t even bother to fill,
after she left ?
-
or the money that Barack “earned”,
for an autobiography, that was an untrue “composite”,
and wasn’t even “auto-” ?
-
there is a difference, between spending money you earn,
and spending money you got by fraud and corruption...
Or, if she was "given" the jacket in exchange for some favor.
Ridiculous...stop acting stupidly.
