DENVER (AP) Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper and his wife are separating.
The governor and his wife, the writer Helen Thorpe, issued a joint statement Tuesday announcing the move. They say they remain close friends, spend time together as a family and sometimes attend social events together.

Yes, you’re wrong. There are pockets of pure lib and the state is trending the wrong way, but CO is not in the same league as CA.
Here’s what I know:
1. The level of liberalism in CO is nowhere near as wacky as northern CA.
2. The public sector works reasonably well. The public schools are mostly good. Taxes are reasonable. So the idea of a Democratic party is not as partisan.
3. Hickenlooper was implicated in a high profile female escort bust, where his robe was discovered. So the gay angle is suspect.
4. He’s a geologist, turned businessman, turned polititian. Well rounded IMO.
“Aurora pulled off a real coup by stealing the CU Hospital and medical school away from Denver and then luring Children’s’ Hospital and the VA hospital out to the new Anschutz Medical Campus, a beautiful area”
Yep. Aurora “stole” these from Denver by unfairly offering a gigantic land area with massive amounts of free parking, awesome superhighway access from all parts of the state, and safe surrounding neighborhoods. I for one am deliriously happy I no longer have to drive to and try and park down at Colorado Blvd and Colfax Street. I’m sure most who work and visit Anschutz feel the same way.
One of the many ironies of this story is that the beautiful Anschutz facility is sparking a turnaround for what had become a sketchy neighborhood. So, who does shooter turn out to be? Not a guy from the ‘hood, but but a grad student from Anschutz. With a gag order in place it could be quite a while before we find out his whole story.
She probably got tired of her funny last name.
The Tea Party goofed, REALLY REALLY goofed when they chose who to back. The guy was as crazy as a $3 bill. and came across as a big time crook.
Long story short, Tom Tancredo finally got into the race in the final weeks, but got stomped.
Of course that was one of very few times I've gone east of Golden.
I abhor dims but I would like to ask—why is this anyones business but theirs??
Yeah because the natural thing to do with your ex is remain friends.
Colfax is Colfax. Even further west where the ‘Fax is surrounded by nice neighborhoods, its still Colfax. I’m talking about the area to the north where Stapleton and Anschutz are influencing things. As I recall, however, some nicer restaurants have opened near Anschutz, even on Colfax.
"They'll still spend "a great deal of time together," for instance. They'll be together for holidays. They'll be together for vacations. They'll "share meals often." They'll be out in the community "sometimes together, sometimes solo," sometimes with the man either one of them happens to be dating."
Hickenlooper.
Is this a “stickinpooper” situation?
“sometimes with the man either one of them happens to be dating.””
LOL...it looks like my analysis of his picture was correct.
I want to that Stapleton area once. Bought a Detroit locker from a guy there. Seems nice I guess. But you are right near the coliseum and Purina and all that area.
Right about Colfax, all the way to Lakewood. Like a skidmark in your shorts.
Take care.
Chickenpooper has some great qualities and some nasty liberal ones. I torn with this guy. Although he is a Democrat I was holding out hope that he would actually be a great governor as he understands business, cuts budgets, and understands many things conservative. He is also an open borders guy which pisses me off.
I don’t know if he is homosexual, he doesn’t come across as one, so I wish him luck with his personal affairs.
“skidmark in your shorts.”
LOL! “Colfax: The skidmark of Denver!”
The Stapleton area is the old Lowry AFB area as well. It was slum in the 1980’s when I was stationed there for a year or so and it still is.

You take care too.
If you were parking at Colorado Boulevard and Colfax Avenue did you walk, ride the bus or take a cab south to 8th Avenue?
