Dallas Morning News ^

In deep East Texas, Steve Stockman — ousted in 1996 after a single controversial House term marked by rabid anti-federal rhetoric, including sympathy for the Oklahoma City bombers — won a stunning comeback. This time, he ducked public attention and focused tightly on tea partiers and evangelical Christians.

Awesome! Don’t like the sympathy for the OK bombers, but the rest is ok. And yes, Lon Horiuchi needs to be brought to justice.

Know what you mean. Imknowvpeople who have “expressed sympathy” for the OK City bombers. That’s where this stuff goes when the elite tyrants don’tt respond to the people.

As I said on other threads, Stockman and his opponent Katchawhatever bombasted me with at least 10 robocalls a day. As diligent as I ususally am to vote, I sat this one out. I hope the GOP is reading this.

Sitting it out works great for the Yeller Dog Dems, the Kenyan will thank you.

Think about it, the stakes for our beloved America are just too damn high to stay home in any election now!

Holding out for perfection is just an excuse to procrastinate.

I am from East Texas and this surprises me. Most of them would have no sympathy for any bomber. In fact, my facebook page looks like a freerepublic blog.

I wonder how much of his margin is from Dem crossover voters hoping to get a Repub candidate who will be rejected in November?

Stockman lost in 1996 because the staff he had in his office in Beaumont were a complete pack of kooks.

If he wins and does the same again, he will be there for 1 term again.

When you go to a congressman's office you expect more than to have the staff want to kneel and pray or read a favorite passage from the bible or leave your name for a prayer list.

“expressed sympathy” could mean just about anything.

Not taking the media's word on this until I see some direct in-context quotes.

Well, I've consistently expressed sympathy for former congresswoman Helen Chenowith and Rush Limbaugh for being smeared by Clinton, Clinton, Gore & Reno, Inc. so the oval office desicrator could try to rehab hisself!!! (spit!!!)

Now he's gonna go down there an put Obama's miserable name in nomination to curse mainstream America for a compounding 48 months. The danged "Lame Duck" congress will be bad enough if he loses, with some of our miserable Repellicans "reaching across" the danged isle!!!
