If you'd been at Northpark Mall (Davenport, IA), you'd've seen the lines really starting to kick into gear about 11:45 AM.

By that time, my #3 combo (with waffle fries and a medium sweet tea) were but a tasty memory of one hour beforehand.

Got to CFA around 8:20 PM. Took less than 5 minutes to get through the drive through, but just about every parking space was fill and there were a lot of people at tables, both inside and out.
When I got to the intercom and the girl asked “May I help you?” I channeled up my inner Pavarotti and sang...

“God bless America
And Chick Fillet.
I stand beside her
and order
A Spicy Chicken Sandwich, coleslaw, fries and a Peach Shake”

Unbenonced to me, a couple folks were just outside my open car window, which gave me a start when they spoke to me...

“Wow, for that, they ought to give you two!”

When I got to the pickup window, they were out of Spicy Chicken, so I said no problem, I’ll take a plain old Chicken Sandwich, and asked for a half dozen cookies, whence I learned they were all out of those I asked for a brownie. The girl said that those were out, somebody else informed her that they had some in the back. As I had already paid, I asked what I owed and she said,

“Nothing”.

Even at the end of what I’m sure was a most brutal day, my server was nothing but cheerful and upbeat.

Thanks, Chick-fil-A.

AB!!

For all you do on the FR Sunday Morning Talk Show Thread, these are for you:

Here are the ones I took @11:20am CST:

These were taken at Spring Texas. The Chick-Fil-A is in a plaza that has a Wal-Mart. We HAD to park IN WAL-MART'S LOT and walk!! Two lines for the drive thru wrapped around BOTH sides of the building:

Notice other people having to walk from Wal-Mart's lot through the drive-in cars to go inside:

Here's just a part of the folks waiting (we were standing in the "To-Go" area):

At more than one time durring our wait, I counted AT LEAST 12 people behind the counter and at least 6 floor people. They were ALL busy with some folks coming and going stocking the tea, lemonade, shake machine (which was why we were waiting!!)etc:

We dropped off the food at home and then went to Kroger (the next plaza north of Chick-Fil-A). We arrived at 11:55am CST. This plaza contains a Wendy's AND a McDonalds (right next to each other.) I have seen them both REALLY busy before, but today was "a little different". They were both VERY DEAD. This was Wendy's lot and Drive thru at right around 11:57:

..and this was McDonalds:

It was GREAT!!!!

OBTW....incase you haven't heard it yet....

The new Chick-Fil-A Song !!!!

I dont know... Imagine if JCPenny announced yesterday they are abondoning their pro-homo stance and just going back to ‘neutral’ on the issue and removing any and all COMPANY reference to pro-homosexual (or anti)

Then they should say the company has decided to stay out of political discussions and will NOT be commenting on anythign political in the future except that they honor and respect ALL their customers and, like chik-fil-a, they support everyones right to shop in their stores

I bet we could get enough Conservatives in the store in one day to make a buisiness-saving change in profits

Lafayette, IN at 9:15 PM on Wednesday there was a 1 hour and 50 minute wait. Two lines out both doors and cars lined up down the road.

Awesome.

I dissagree. I won't go out of my way to reward an accomodating business. That is the norm and nothing more or less is expected. I am not that passionate about the gay marriage thing outside of the religious/spiritual context. I am against gay marriage.

Chik Filet gets my enthusiastic support precisely because a man made a statement about his personal values which are consistently reflected in the values of the business. The business is successful and much apprectiated in EVERY community they exist. When they were attacked by idiot Mayors, Chick Filet stood their ground, head and shoulders into the political wind of the liberal anti-business, anti-Christian crowd. They didn't even blink!

I'll wait 2 hours for a $2 sandwich to show how much I support that type of honest, value based patriotism. Had the CEO apologised, I would not have cared much one way or another about the event. My statement was as much about showing our nation and the media that I don't care for politicians bashing American business as it was for Chick Filet and their right to run their business how ever they see fit.

I disagre with your disagreement of my disagreeing

Imagine JCPenny decided to do the following:
1) fire Ellen Degenerate
2) announce that they will no longer make pronouncment for or agtainst any political issues
3) announce they will comply with ALL laws regarding discrimintation, but will not promote any political agenda in any other ways

What would heppend next is that the libtards would lose their minds...Then the protests would start

THEN we could have a ‘day of support’ to show that NOT caving in to the lib agenda is good for business and thereby set a precident that all companines could follow- no one would EVER announce they were offering same sex benefits after that (and the ones that did would suffer the same drop in sales as JCPenny’s)

Penny’s got blackmailed into taking a pro-home stance, at the threat of ‘boycott’

This would make any such threat laughable after that

I am ok with your dissagreeing with my dissagreement of your opinion. :o)

I think Ellen Degenerate is funny and don't care one way or another for her political views. I do not shop at JC Penney and any move they would make would be a sissy paper statement (of which they have already made). I would be no more inclined to support Obama if he sent me a personal check for $1 Million dollars than I would be to change my behavior to support a business that flip flops over political pressure.

I am happy to show my unwaivering support for a successful value based (and value practiced) business with employees reflective of those values that come under the attack of politicians. Chick Filet didn't blink and still have not made any overt effort to capitalize on the publicity they are getting but rather are continueing on with business as usual.

I heard that several Wendy's on the East Coast were showing support for Chick Filet as well. I give them a nod and will consider patronizing them as well. But theirs was also a smart PR move to gain some attention in the swell of small business support. Any business coming forward now is simply acting to take advantage of conservatives.

JC Penney made their bed. They picked their horse. Our collective statement sends a very clear message to the right business leaders. Shoulda, Woulda, Coulda is the message to the fakers.

Like I said, I'm not a customer of JC Penney. In my busy life, I don't see myself being motivated to take political action on their behalf.

I'm just being honest and do support your effort and respect your opinion.

I understand your point in disagreeing with your disagreement with my disagreeing with your disagreement

But I think repentance can be rewarded too. We like to encourage that sort of thing.

I would LOVE to see them stand up and say straight out "we screwed up- we let the libtards bully us into making a political statement when what we really just want to do is treat ALL our customers equally- SO WE ARE RESCINDING THIS POLICY"

To: who knows what evil?

Maybe it was a put-on by the Nashua franchise owner?

If not, I’d avoid that Chick-Fil-A, LOL.
