Andrea Mitchell: "Terrorism" And Israel Has Damaged Palestinian Economy (video)

NBC's ANDREA MITCHELL: Dan, if Governor Romney had made those points in that speech, I don’t think people would have raised questions and I don’t think he would have had the response from Sa’eb Erekat and other Palestinian leaders.

The fact is he made the point much more broadly about the Israeli economy, the Israeli GDP in contrast to the Palestinian GDP without mentioning that the Palestinians have faced, because of the terrorism, because of the second anti-fada, because of all of that history and Israel’s need for security, but they have faced a wall. They have faced closures where it takes people an hour to get to their jobs, to go two miles because of all of the restrictions and the way they have to -- if you have driven through the West Bank in recent years, you would understand the difference between Ramallah -- when we were there in 2004, a bustling, thriving economy, and Ramallah in the intervening years because of all of the reactions.

The Palestinians, with their eyes wide open, voted FOR terrorism and FOR the destruction of Israel and will not acknowledge the right of Israel to exist. Their situation is of their choosing. You have to be stupid or be a liar to blame the plight of the Palestinians on Israel. It is that simple.

What Palestine economy??? When the Israelis moved out the Palestinians inherited what I think was the most profitable floral greenhouse complex in the world, and certainly among the most profitable. It’s customers were so wide spread that the Israelis had a fleet of jets, especially configured with systems that kept the air in the planes humid enough to protect the delicate flowers. That is a LOT of jobs involved.
It took mere hours to totally DESTROY every vestige, an act done in joyous celebration. Now-—too darn bad.

Why if they’re unhappy do these Arabs continue to sneak into someone else’s country? Because the Israelis manage to keep the level of Arab terrorism much lower in Israel than it is in these Arabs’ home countries (seen the pictures from Syria, Egypt,Iraq lately?)

Uh Andrea, Israel has faced more terrorism than the
palestinians and their economy is thriving, it couldn’t
be a “cultural thing” could it?

What lame excuse does she have for the pitiful economic performance (absent export of oil) of every other Arab nation?

I had a bit of an epiphany when I heard the pali spokesman call Romney's comments "racist," and it explained to me a lot of what's going on here in the US as well.

To address the cry of "racism" by the pali when Romney stated that the differences between the pali and Israeli economies is cultural, that is demonstrably the case. First off, there is no such thing as a "pali race." Secondly, if it were a "racial thing," I'm unaware of any suicidal race, at least not one that is born with high explosives to murder others. The simple fact of the matter is that most of Israel was either desert or marsh, not terribly hospitable to life. It was the Zionists that transformed Israel into the agricultural and high tech powerhouse that it is today. Can you imagine where Israel's economy would be today had Israel not been forced to sink so much of its resources (money, but more importantly, PEOPLE conscripted into the military) into defense? And the pails have been kept down, not by Israel, but by the UN and the rest of the arab and muslim world, to be used as cannon fodder against Israel.

And this ties into what's going on in this country. We keep hearing how it's racism and "racial memory" (the leftovers of slavery) that's the cause of so much squalor in the Black community. But that's disprovable by the successes of recent Black immigrants, at least until their children begin to be influenced by the so called "Black culture."

The simple fact is that it's SO compelling to blame your "problems" on race and racism, because that's something you have no control over, so it's not your fault. But if it's culture, then your station in life, or lack thereof, is your own choice, and it's your fault. And most people just don't want to make the hard decisions to change their lives, even though will will improve their lives.

Mark

sorry andrea, but the pali’s are the ones that damaged and/or destroyed their own economy. case in point:

several years ago israel gave back land they had been occupying near the gaza strip. this land contained massive greenhouses, capable of growing enough food to feed the population... what did the pali’s do with them?

they went in and destroyed them, utterly, completely, destroyed them... smashed the glass, the grow tables, the lighting and irrigation systems, dismantled the pumps, and left it a ruin...

What has damaged the palestinean economy more than anything else is their inability to improve on the explosive vest. They aren't getting any feedback from the users.

Seriously Israel has nobel laureates and palestineans throw cripples off the Achilles Laurel.

Andrea needs to quit pretending to be a “journalist” and admit she’s a paid RAT hack. She now has a show on MSNBC, further proof she’s not a journalist. And the pig Bob Beckel repeated the exact same talking points on “The Five” yesterday, and nobody has ever accused Beckel of being a journalist.

“Romney Derangement Syndrome?”

You’ll find it in the most surprising places (and I don’t mean on NBC).

Would love to be a fly on the wall to hear the conversations, if any, between Ms. Mitchell and hubby, Greenspan. She spreads the propaganda and disinformation of the Left & muzlims and he helps destroy economies. What a team!
