MARTINSBURG - Police and fire crews closed down the Chick-fil-A on Foxcroft Avenue in Martinsburg for nearly three hours following a bomb threat that was called in just before 1 p.m. today.
The caller mentioned that a "device" had been placed within the restaurant. The building was evacuated, but was deemed safe at about 3:45 p.m. after no bomb or any other type of device was discovered.
Martinsburg City Police and the Martinsburg Fire Department personnel investigated the scene, along with Berkeley County Sheriff Kenny Lemaster. A National Park Ranger with a canine unit arrived at the scene at approximately 2:45 p.m. to assist, and a second from the West Virginia State Police arrived later as well.
According to a release from police, the location of the call was traced and the investigation is following up on leads about the male caller.
"We prosecute to the fullest extent that the law allows, for anyone making these types of threats," the release states.
The fast-food chain has come under fire recently for comments made by its president, Dan Cathy, to the Baptist Press. According to an Associated Press report, today has been declared "National Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day" by supporters of traditional marriage. However, it is unknown at this time if the threat against the local restaurant is related.
I totally expected this. I also expect some CFA haters to claim food poisoning,,or a burn from the coffee,,or to call the fire marshalls and have the restaurants evacuated due to fire code issues,,,,or vandalism of the cars of the patrons,
or feces,,you know,,,that’s how the liberals roll
It must be someone with ties to the tea party.
“it is unknown at this time if the threat against the local restaurant is related’
My bet would be on an Angry Liberal Fascist MSNBC-Klux-Klan boy raper.
The libs seem to be a tad bit upset by all of this today.
(And I don’t usually use that term.)
Nothing says tolerance like a bomb threat!
Have the nation’s queers partnered with islamic terrorists?

Right, just a weird coincidence - NOT. I am sure some group of gays fuming over the wildly successful CFA Appreciation Day decided it was time to act. Does sound like we are in the 21st century version of a civil war....
Violence and threats of violence.
The calling card of the left.
Chick-fil-A, 8875 Tampa Avenue, Northridge, Los Angeles, CA, August 1st, 2012, 12:00 Noon. Line is all the way around building.
Unbelievable pictures. Like seeing a glimpse of things to come in November. Nice posting.
The line to get into a Chick-fil-A in Fairfax, Virginia was 1/4 mile long earlier today. Similar scenes are happening all over the country.
Seems like REAL Americans are voting with their wallets today. Kinda proves that if you remain true to your principles and do the right thing, you will come out ahead in the end.
And perhaps our country isn’t quite as decadent as some would have us believe.
God bless America!
Maybe the “sleeping giant” just got poked in the eye one too many times...
Odd. Not much on he news...
Oh how the left screams and cries like babies when they are NOT the ones getting the attention. The person who called this one in will get way more attention than they wanted.
There was a traffic jam at 11:30 this morning in Olive Branch, Ms. caused by inbound traffic to CFA, There was one squad car with an officer directing traffic at the entrance, the lot was full, cars were in line around the building at the drive through and people were outside waiting to get in. At 12:15 ther were 3 more squad cars and officers were directing traffic at intersections going to CFA, I don’t know what was happening from the other direction
“Peaceful” leftists threatening innocent people. Remember that when their bozo in the White House asks for your support.
