Obama's Signature Move: Unsealing Private Records
Town Hall ^ | 8/1/12 | Ann Coulter

Posted on 08/01/2012 6:37:58 PM PDT by Nachum

Mitt Romney presents one enormous problem for Barack Obama's campaign: No divorce records. That's why the media are so hot to get their hands on Romney's tax records for the past 25 years. They need something to "pick through, distort and lie about" -- as the Republican candidate says.

Obama's usual campaign method, used in 100 percent of his races, has been to pry into the private records of his opponents.

Democrats aren't going to find any personal dirt on the clean-cut Mormon, so they need complicated tax filings going back decades in order to create the illusion of scandal out of boring financial records.

Romney has already released his 2010 tax return and is about to release his 2011 return. After all the huffing and puffing by the media demanding those returns, the follow-up story vanished remarkably quickly when the only thing the return showed was that Romney pays millions of dollars in taxes and gives a lot of money to charity.

Let's take a romp down memory lane and review the typical Obama campaign strategy. Obama became a U.S. senator only by virtue of David Axelrod's former employer, the Chicago Tribune, ripping open the sealed divorce records of Obama's two principal opponents.

One month before the 2004 Democratic primary for the U.S. Senate, Obama was down in the polls, about to lose to Blair Hull, a multimillionaire securities trader. But then the Chicago Tribune leaked the claim that Hull's second ex-wife, Brenda Sexton, had sought an order of protection against him during their 1998 divorce proceedings.

And I thought YOU were under threat - particularly from Mormons, since you stated they were a bigger threat to Christians than militant Islam. But whatever...I hope we both stay safe from whatever worries us the most.

Actually this is what I said.

“I think renouncing Christ for a cult founded as an anti-Christian cult is worse” (than being killed) If you are a Christian then you agree with that.

It is sad that those pushing Mormonism have to keep offering up as argument, that they are not Muslims, that isn’t much of an argument but it sure makes clear that religion is important and that discussing the religion of Bishop Romney who is striving to become a God, and who asked for permission to run for President from his Holy Prophet is important.

“Pushing Mormonism”? Your fixation has you seeing a Mormon behind every bush. I’m not a Mormon and have no interest in becoming one. Before I retired I supervised a few for several years but they didn’t frighten me. I was told of their religion by co-workers who knew them personally, but they never mentioned it to me (maybe they were “bad” Mormons?). Apparently they are the focus of your worries and/or anger but I just don’t share your concerns. Romney didn’t transform Massachusetts into a Mormon stronghold and as far as I know he didn’t try to. As I said previously, I don’t see us finding common ground on the issue of Mormon-mania.

The fact is that the number one argument for defenders of Mormonism and Bishop Romney is that it isn’t Islam, your argument.

Bishop Romney sought the permission of his Holy Prophet to run for President and Romney was a disaster as Governor, that is why he had to give up his plan to seek reelection, he left office with a damning 34% approval.

“The fact is that the number one argument for defenders of Mormonism and Bishop Romney is that it isn’t Islam, your argument.”

Well, I’m not a “defender” of Mormonism but I suspect that most people (not you) would agree that radical Islam is worse. I really don’t care about them one way or the other. I’m just not scared of them like you are.

If you have finished with your efforts to get personal and the distraction of holding of Islam to avoid Romney’s problems.

I would like to re post my original statement which is relevant to the thread and an important insight.

“What they will find is a massive transfer of tens of millions of dollars to the Mormon headquarters and other Mormon only related organizations.

All legal of course, but it will be unsettling to Christians.”

Thank you, that is why I posted it, most freeper conservatives are already aware of it of course, but it is good for everyone to see it posted.

I’m grateful at being reminded to be upset about Mormons donating their money to the Mormon church - and that Mormons with a lot of money donate a lot of money to the Mormon church. Quite unnerving!

Thank you.

As powerful figures and as high ranking religious leaders within Mormonism, the Romneys have brought in 10s of millions of dollars into their “unique” anti-Christian religion, and of course Bishop Romney sought the permission of his Holy Prophet to run for President of the United States.

This is something we have never seen in America.

“This is something we have never seen in America.”

IMO, we’re seeing vastly worse in the White House right now. Maybe it’ll turn out you’re right - Mormons are the biggest threat of all the threats to this country, but at this point it just seems to be a denial of all the blatant dangers we face. But hey, it’s a big world and anything can happen...I’m just not going to lose sleep over the possibility. No doubt your mileage will vary.

LOL, the there just doesn’t seem to be a way to sell Romney except for repeating that he isn’t Obama and isn’t Muslim.

What a candidate.

“Selling Romney”? You’re telling yourself stories again. I don’t care if you vote for Romney or not. Are you pretending not to understand that because it gives you something to write about?

If you aren’t selling Romney then why did you jump in and start posting at me?

If you aren’t posting about Romney then you don’t need to be occupying so much real estate on this Romney thread with your selling of him.

I was posting about your goofy, almost-comical fear that Mormonism is the biggest threat confronting the country, and that countless people are going to be deeply upset to find that Romney gave lots of money to the Mormon church. I’m not a Mormon and I don’t care if a Mormon or someone of another religion is elected president, as long as it isn’t Obama. Your morbid fascination with all things Mormon might improve with professional help, but you appear to enjoy picking at your sores.

By the way, it’s not up to you to determine how much “real estate” I need to occupy, so feel free to make a rusty suppository out of your attitude.

No, you jumped in and started posting to me over and over to defend Mitt Romney, and to get personal which is a trait of the pro Romney people, as that post shows.

This “What they will find is a massive transfer of tens of millions of dollars to the Mormon headquarters and other Mormon only related organizations.
All legal of course, but it will be unsettling to Christians.”

Was the observation about Romney’s tax issues in the news, that set you off and started your tirades against me.

Tirades of a personal attack nature such as post 55, all in service to Mitt Romney, days of this stuff in service to Mitt.

You seem pretty obsessed with it yet you haven’t introduced anything of meaning or facts in regards to your unusual and personal attack method of defending him.

I wasn’t aware there was a sore to pick in regards to Romney’s tax returns and how much the Romney family has funneled into Mormonism.

My original post looked fresh and new to me.

Mormons do that, as they call it "Milk before Meat"

You do know that Milk before Meat comes from Paul's letter to the Corinthians?

Evidently you are unaware of where MY use comes from.

My use comes from the video of a class of Mormons being taught how to lie to gain members for the cult, especially Christians.

They are taught to not blow it by showing the truth, but to dribble out information at a level that will bring them in, yet not reveal what they are being drawn into.

Mormons are taught to deceive and seduce with evasion and lies and half truths which is necessary to trick Christians into joining an anti-Christian cult.
