If it hadn’t been a beetle, then it would have been a fish or lizard... salamander... bird. They can always find something or make something up.

Americans are burying beetles? Maybe they’d like a nice Jetta?

The eco-idiots have a long way to go. Eventually they will use death of microbes to stop everything. Shouldn’t these mutant EPA regulators be in prison?

Actually, it’s true. There are only two left. I saw them. One of them looked up at me and whispered, “I buried Paul”. The other one kicked him in the shins and said, “You did not!” It went on like that for a while: “ Did so.” “Never did. “ It really made me want to just step on the both of them. Or pour some kerosene on them and have them go out in a blaze of glory.

This is apparantly true. This poor creatures entire ecosystem is a 1000 mile corridor about 100 yards wide

Funny, considering the Feds already approved the pipeline once. The beetles must have a tranporter.

We are living in the throes of madness. Starve an entire country of a vital resource to protect an insect.

There aren't many left. Time is of the essence. It's the least we can do.

The following has been known to happen in Texas Hill Country when a property owner or buyer discovers a cave or sink hole on their property: They know if some obscure beetle, bug, salamander, fish etc. is found in the cave or sink hole they will not be allowed to build on or develop their property. They do not know if anything is in that cave or sink hole. Therefore they will pour diesel into the hole and light it. Everything in it dies and at that point the endangered species act is no longer relevant.

I knew our President was looking endangered with November coming, but I didn’t know he was a beetle.

Kinda explains the whole fake birth certificate thing.

Funny, considering the Feds already approved the pipeline once.

What was approved was a partial spin-off of the original pipeline project, from Cushing, OK to Gulf Coast Texas. That project is now called the Gulf Coast Pipeline.

The current KeystoneXL pipeline goes from Hardisty, Alberta to Steele City, Nebraska.

I believe that they had the approvals done from Canada to Nebraska and then Bernie Sanders and Steve Cohen whined that enough wasn’t done to safeguard the environment so they demanded that State review the approval. This put the “approval” on hold and was ultimately rolled back.

Sanders and Cohen used this approval as an excuse to have the IG look at State procedures for approvals of this nature to make sure nothing nefarious was going on.

Obviously they just demanded the IG look to cover their ass to demand that State examine the approval.

There are many government approvals required for building a pipeline. The environmental impact study with review and comment period had already been completed reviewing 32 options in the routing.

The line was eventually held up by a required approval from the State Department because it crossed the Canadian Border. The State Department approval has been required on all petroleum pipelines crossing the border for many decades.

The North and South Section of the previous plan never should have been submitted together, in my opinion. The Northern section stopped in Steel City, Nebraska. The Southern section didn't start until Cushing, Oklahoma. It was only for the publicity of such an large project that they were ever combined. From the beginning, the two sections were connected by existing pipe.
