Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), along with 83 other members of Congress, led a push this week to keep lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) family members from being deported.
In a letter to Homeland Security sent on Tuesday, July 31, the Democratic members pleaded for recognition, in writing, that same-sex partners should be considered as a discretionary factor in deciding deportation cases.
This will be the second attempt at persuading Secretary Napolitano to put the Obama Administration and Department of Homeland Security’s 2011 announcement, into writing.

I think the point is that since a Court considers marriage to a U.S. citizen as a factor in deportation proceedings, Pelosi wants the Court to also take into account that they are in a queer relationship.
Probably half the people in San Fran who vote for Pelosi are gay or illegal or both, when you think of that it isn’t surprising that Nancy would stand up for them.
Nancy should have stayed in Baltimore working on the Block as a B-girl, it was more suited to her intelligence and her morals.

I think the point that one needs to address is that hetero couples in a committed relationship have the option of marriage to avoid deportation, while homo couples don’t.

I'd guess Pelosi and the rest apparently want to have those cases treated "equally" with those of legal heterosexual marriages.
They also see it as a way to bring in more foreigners.
As you know, if a an American marries a foreigner that foreigner is allowed to live in the United States. The dems want that to be for men and men marriages too and lesbians.
