The Obama administration released illegal immigrants who went on to commit more crimes, including charges of 19 murders, 3 attempted murders and 142 sex crimes, the House Judiciary Committee said in a report Tuesday.
All told, 16 percent of the nearly 47,000 illegal immigrants the administration was notified of but declined to deport between 2008 and 2011 under its Secure Communities program have gone on to be charged with other crimes, the committee said.
They were part of the nearly 160,000 immigrants most of them here legally who were flagged by Secure Communities during the three-year period and who were later charged in nearly 60,000 more crimes, according to the committee and the Congressional Research Service, which looked at data the committee subpoenaed from the Homeland Security Department.
The Secure Communities program was designed to identify immigrants who end up in state and local prisons and jails who the administration decides it wants to deport.
While hundreds of thousands of aliens have been sent back home under the program, 159,286 were not put in deportation proceedings during the period under review, CRS said.
About three-quarters of those werent eligible for deportation because they were legal immigrants and their criminal records didnt rise to the level of deportation.
But nearly a quarter could have been deported and werent, CRS said. They went on to commit the 19 murders, 3 attempted murders and 142 sex crimes, the Judiciary Committee said.
The Obama administration could have prevented these senseless crimes by enforcing our immigration laws, said committee Chairman Lamar Smith, Texas Republican. But President Obama continues to further his anti-enforcement agenda while innocent Americans suffer the consequences. His unwillingness to enforce immigration laws puts our communities at risk and costs American lives."

Nothing to see here, move along. </sarc>
not to mention we get to pay for their public defenders and related arrest costs and prison...if they ever get there.
There is not ONE case of ‘value-added’ for an illegal alien in this country.....not ONE. The net cost for any illegal far outweighs any benefit they provide. We simply do not need them.
Now I know some of the more clever among Freepers may say “Well, what about Obama?”....I say that while he’s probably illegal, the result still remains the same - no value added.
Your name is on this one ping.
It’s really much worse, just one example:
My Mother is the head counselor for a men’s prison in south Georgia. “Counselor” is really kind of a wrap-around title for the person who handles everything outside of actual detention like intake and release.
An illegal immigrant who was convicted of a violent crime came up for release last week after serving his sentence. (Can’t speak a word of English, by the way.)
The normal procedure is that the Counselor calls ICE, they come get him, and then they put him on a plane and he is returned to his native country (with dozens of others).
Since Obama did what he did, ICE will not return her phone calls for a “release” and that man walked right out the prison doors. A free man, illegal, in America.
Over a 72 hour period after his sentence was served she called 6 separate ICE offices about 3 times each - with absolutely no response from anyone.
Note: It is illegal in Georgia to hold a man longer than 72 hours after his sentence is served - even if he’s illegal.
As momma says, “No ride, he flies.”
If Romney doesn’t make an ad on this type of BS then he’s an idiot.
The key findings of the report include:
The data provided to the House Judiciary Committee by DHS includes 276,412 records of charges against illegal and criminal immigrants identified by Secure Communities between October 27, 2008 and July 31, 2011. There are 159,286 unique individuals in the database and 205,101 unique arrest incidents.
Of those released, CRS found that about 17% of illegal and criminal immigrants, or 26,412, were rearrested on criminal charges. These 26,412 recidivists accounted for a total of 42,827 arrests and 57,763 alleged violations.
The categories of crimes charged include nearly 8,500 DUI (14.6%), over 6,000 Drug Violations (10.9%), more than 4,000 Major Criminal Offenses (7.1%), which includes murder, assault, battery, rape, and kidnapping, nearly 3,000 Theft (4.9%), and over 1,000 Other Violent Crimes (2.1%), which includes carjacking, child cruelty, child molestation, domestic abuse, lynching, stalking, and torture.
These crimes committed by both illegal and legal immigrants include 59 murders, 21 attempted murders, and 542 sex crimes.
Of those rearrested, nearly 30%, or 7,283, were illegal immigrants. Since 46,734 illegal immigrants were released, this means they have a recidivism rate of 16%. These illegal immigrants should have been deported but the Obama administrations lax immigration policies released them back into our communities.
The crimes charged against these illegal immigrants include nearly 2,000 DUI (11.9%), over 1,400 drug violations (8.8%), and more than 1,000 major criminal offenses and violent crimes (6.9%), including murder, assault, battery, rape, kidnapping, child molestation, domestic abuse, lynching, stalking, and torture.
These crimes committed by illegal immigrants include 19 murders, 3 attempted murders, and 142 sex crimes.
