From sleeping on the job to running prostitution rings off the clock, agents in the Transportation Security Administration have been making headlines for all the wrong reasons. But TSA Deputy Administrator John Halinski shrugged off critiques of his employees at a hearing this week, saying Americans shouldn’t expect more from their airport screeners than they would from the average guy on the street. “If you have an organization of 60,000 people, that’s like a city,” Halinski protested, when asked if Americans were right to be unhappy with the TSA. “You’re always going to have crime in a city. You’re always

The TSA screeners can’t be competently screened by the TSA?

Since most of 0bama’s cabinet and Tzars are criminals, I suppose all of those government employees below them are too.

When the TSA was foisted on the American people, the Bush administration said they would need 13,000 agents. There are now 67,000 and counting.

The Obama administration says it will need 800 IRS agents to monitor U.S. taxpayers forced into ObamaCare. How many agents do you suppose there will ultimately be, poking into your health care and home life?

There’s a difference between having TSA screeners who are former criminals and having TSA screeners who are still in the business.

TSA Chief says Americans should expect some airport screeners to be criminals

if they can't even manage to keep the criminals off the employment rolls, how can they be capable of keeping the terrorists off the planes?

The TSA needs to dress these people like flight attendants - and quit allowing them to pretend they’re police officers. They’re NOT... the requirements to be in the TSA are similar to Walmart greeters - only not as strict...

Beat me to it! When I saw the headline, I thought,Who is screening the screeners? What a joke these people are. If there are criminal screeners, then what is to prevent one of them from letting someone, something to get through?

i expect better. While I assumed there were quite a few pedophiles and other perverts who take the job for the fringe benefit of groping total strangers, I was hoping that they at least had clean criminal records. Silly me. Obama’s people are to busy taking over our economy and our lives to do the jobs they already have.

Indeed! Halinski's statement is so profoundly bad it strains credulity. TSA are the gatekeepers. If this reflects the administration's mindset then all is lost. The House Homeland Security and Transportation committees should be falling all over themselves getting the hearings started. Halinski's career should be over.

Americans shouldn’t expect more from their airport screeners than they would from the average guy on the street.

The average guy on the street cannot take naked pictures of me or strip search me.
The average guy on the street cannot go through all of my personal belongings on a say so.
The average guy on the street does not have the force of federal law to back up his actions.

As such the argument is ludicrous on it's face. But can we really expect better for gubment scum?

Yes. And when we catch the criminals we ARREST them and through them in PRISON!!

Same thing should apply to your ‘city’ Mr.TSA Chief...

Reminds me of an article I saw in a retail trade publication years ago. Some employment analyst predicting that in the future “retailers will knowingly have to hire people with criminal records, because increasingly they will be the only ones willing to take these jobs at minimum wage”.

The government thug went on to say, “While going through your things, if we find something of value or interest to us shouldn’t we be allowed to dip our beaks, just wet them a little. Is that so wrong?”
“And if one of our goons is having a bad day and bullying a citizen, a senior citizen or a nun might boost his/her spirits, is that necessarily a bad thing?”

Obamacare never asked for ONLY 800 additional IRS Agents. It was always 16,500.

I Googled it.

just like we should expect our LEO to be? Memphis only wants one race, and half their population have criminal records, makes the pool to small for them to find candidates, and you have to LIVE in Memphis, not in the burbs.

IOW... Your average Carry Permit holder is more "law abiding" and a better "security risk" than those the GOVERNMENT put in charge of Transportation Security...

Abolish the TSA. Enough of this bullsh*t...

We were told that unionizing these people would professionalize them.

Nope, all unionizing them did was create another conduit for taxpayer money to be funneled into democrat campaign coffers.

Well, we aren't quite there yet, but we already have to knowingly hire stupid people because they are the only ones willing to take our jobs at $13/hour.

Thanks to the Eternal 99 Week Unemployment Benefits Plan, it's amazing how many people still think it is 2006 and refuse to actually work unless offered at least $20/hour.
