President Barack Obama has one of the biggest leads we've seen for him in quite a long time in a new Pew Research Poll: He's up 10 points over Mitt Romney. Don't take much from it, though. Pew's sample of registered voters is highly skewed, oversampling Democrats by almost 20 points. Pew surveyed 1,956 registered voters. Of those, 42 percent were Democrats and just 23 percent were Republicans. We can't remember a poll being that imbalanced. Pew's poll in June also slightly oversampled Democrats and gave Obama a 7-point lead. So what we can take from this is that Independents are still split on the two candidates, but they've trended toward Romney in the past few weeks. Independents in the poll voted for Romney, 45 percent to 43 percent. That's a 3-point swing from Pew's last poll, when Obama was up 46-45. Here's a look: Pew Research Center Also, Romney still has an edge in "engagement," which bodes well for voter turnout in November. The percentage of Obama supporters saying they've "given a lot of thought" to the election has actually slipped 5 points in the past few weeks.

A 19 point advantage in the poll and he’s only up by 10???
That has to hurt.
If oversampling makes Bobo overconfident, more the better...
What percent of those Democrats oppose same sex marriage?
It would be much more cheering to the Obama camp - if not a little dishonest - were the population sampled to consist entirely of Democrats.
Assuming, of course, that one could find anyone of sound mind these days who intends to vote for the incumbent.
But the headline would certainly be dramatic: One Hundred Percent of Polled Voters Intend to Vote for Obama!
Who knows. Tell some pollster the results you want, they’ll find a way to get them.
That is the Headline of the Year. It tells you everything you need to know at one glance.
These pollsters need to careful because at some point people will no longer pay attention to them because they have lost all credibility if they keep posting bogus polls I think they are trying to create momentum to give the MSM talking points
The real goal here is two fold:
1. Conservatives stay home, Romney hasn’t got a prayer and
2. You undecideds need to jump on the bandwagon and vote with the smart people who are pulling the lever for Obama.
I just took a pol of "un-named sources" and "usual suspects", and it showed (R) up by 29%...just as valid.
I really doubt they even look at these polls, they have their own. I remember a story about 3 weeks ago that indicated that Obama has spent millions on polling already.
The Pews treated us to a night at the ballet,a Christmas buffet at their estate,a rural retreat, get away location for us. Spend a weekend there with fellow students and the stress of 'training to be a nurse' was set aside. Food and transportation was provided generously. That was 1960-63.
Point being that the Pew foundation has been hijacked. Be careful who controls the funds if you establish a foundation.
And of course...this trash poll is now in the RealClearPolitics average.
I saw a new poll out by kearnyirish2news; it has Romney up 99% to Obama’s 1%. It must be true.../s
