Whatever their differences, the 15,000 protesters and 4,000 law enforcement officers who meet outside the Republican National Convention will have a common enemy Tampa's swampy August heat.
They'll also have a common ally a relief effort organized by the city of Tampa, the Salvation Army and the Hillsborough County Health Department.
Local officials plan to have about 50,000 gallons of water on hand for police and protesters alike. Hypothetically, there will be enough of it to give a bottle to everyone in Tampa, Plant City and Temple Terrace, with a few thousand to spare.
But the relief won't stop there.
Tampa officials also will place 575 to 600 portable toilets with hand sanitizer dispensers at three spots around downtown for public use.

Meanwhile, the Tea Party gets tax audits, government bills and harassment....
IMO the protesters, knowing where the “freebies” came from, will upend everything out of nothing more than spite and then complain after the fact.
I guess I know what to do in the red Salvation Army kettle this Christmas.
“Cooling misters”
Probably actually showers. They just call them cooling misters to trick the scumbags into taking a shower. You know...trying to keep the smell down while they are in town.
Its not the Salvation army. Its the super liberal mayor of Tampa. He’s in with Obama and Clinton.
lets start a pool...
How many tons of trash with the 1-15000 protesters leave in the streets?

Cooling misters? I wish that was RNC slang for fire hoses. Don’t think they have the stones for that, though.
More outrageous waste of taxpayer money while the city budget is millions of dollars in the red compared to revenues.
Meanwhile, In Charlotte, N.C., the site of the Democratic National Convention, city officials plan to provide 25 portable toilets and unlimited amounts of water at refill stations, Carol Jennings, the city’s liaison to the DNC, said in an email. Also, she said, “our major park where the parade route ends has beautiful shade trees.”
Guess Adam Smith will be able to get another free water.
Drag over some fire hoses and they’ll get their first shower in years.
There are portable truck washers that could dispense warm soapy water in quantity.
That will be *had* beautiful shade trees. I guess she hasn’t seen the destruction left in the wake of these “gatherings”. Or seen the eye watering bills to restore the public areas. Moochbots: Making America’s city offices & public parks into eyesores- one city at a time.
I predict the Occupy guys will tip over the portapotties and poop on the cop cars.
And I’m sure the water could have some additives. Ex-Lax comes to mind. . . . (evil grin)
I sure hope someone puts some laxative in all those water bottles. Those p[ending protesters are so full of BS that the port-a-potties will be overflowing, literally.
