Chick-fil-A set a one-day sales record on Wednesday amid an ongoing controversy over a company executive's public stance against same-sex marriage, company officials said Thursday.
The Atlanta-based company confirmed in a statement that the sales record was broken Wednesday after it was declared "Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day" by former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, a Baptist minister and Fox News talk-show host.
Chick-fil-A vice president Steve Robinson said the company won't release sales figures for Wednesday. Customers lined up outside restaurants and the Rev. Billy Graham, the 93-year-old evangelist, dined on a Chick-fil-A lunch on the record-setting day...

Thousands of us showed up across the country yesterday - but the ONLY story the press cares about will be the 40 or 50 gays who show up to ‘kiss’. Shame on the MSM...Shame on them for how they’re going to fawn all over the few gays who show up...
I say that FReepers should go back to their local CFA’s with their cell phone cameras or other video devices and record what happens at these “kiss-ins”...just to put on record the professionalism of the CFA employees and the reaction of the gay activists when they are not treated badly.
“...Shame on the MSM...”
Yep. However, by their very inaction/action, they are no longer the “mainstream media”. People now utilize alternative new sources via of the internet making them a “dying breed”. They are nothing but political lapdogs and the public is on to it. The sooner they’re out of business, the better.
CFA is in a tough spot with this kiss-in protest. They can’t really throw them out of their restaurants, because that will reinforce the notion that they discriminate against gays. So, I suggest that CFA supporters return to their local stores tomorrow and do something equally offensive to the kissing protesters...something that will surely run them off in a matter of minutes.
I think sitting near them and starting up a good old fashioned Bible study and devotional, including quotes from scripture, songs and prayer, would result in the kissers departing on their own.
Let the haters hate. Love is the answer.
We’re going back tomorrow.
It crossed my mind that it might be good to just go there, walk around amongst the “demonstrators,” ignore them and whatever they are doing and quote scripture and pray aloud.
I like your idea better. A group of people together singing, praying and studying scripture, speaking Jesus’ Name aloud, etc. might rattle them.
Its a Plus to support a good company with a good product
Anyone else think it’s odd that the ad that ran before the video on Chick-Fil-A Appreciation day at the Christian Science Monitor site was for an NC-17 movie called “Killer Joe”? Or was that just me?
Nice picture but it doesn’t look like it was taken during CFA Appreciation Day. The restaurant isn’t anywhere near crowded enough.
You are correct. There would have been a larger crowd. I believe Sarah & Todd Palin visited CFA on Mon, Jul 30, 2012.
Dang. That guy is posterboy of the year for @ssholes.
“Nice picture but it doesnt look like it was taken during CFA Appreciation Day. The restaurant isnt anywhere near crowded enough”
Correct, I beleive that pic of Palin was last Sat. somewhere in Texas.
I finally made it to Chick-Fil-A for dinner tonight after not being able to get close to the store all of yesterday. I asked the kid serving me in the drive-through about yesterday, and he just smiled and said it was crazy...10 minutes before closing they still had 15 cars in line, and the guy at the front of the line gave him $100 to make sure everyone got their food.
As for the kiss-in, why don’t we just go participate with our husbands and wives? It will be harder to pick out the gay couples if there are many hetero couples, with signs promoting normal human relationships.
I’ll be back Friday too. Taking photos and laffing at the fools
YES! Absolutely!
