If this was a food bank, you’d not see Christians lining up outside to get a free hand-out.

It would be leftist losers out there looking to get that free gubmint cheese. And maybe a free cell phone.

Christians can do both. Eat chicken and serve the homeless. Our little church supports You Matter Ministries. They hold Saturday morning church at My Father’s House on Van Buren in west Phoenix, They serve breakfast, provide for essential needs, give counsel and prayer, and mostly treat the homeless like human beings. They also go to the parks to teach and feed the homeless.

My husband and I have been associated with this group for many, many years. There are at times so many Christians volunteering with You Matter that Rick and Delilah Smith, the founders, have to coordinate days to make sure they aren’t swamped with people. We have seen lives saved, transformed and restored.

They use a song I wrote, inspired by the testimonies of the homeless folks who have been changed through YMM, as a theme song for their ministry. I’ll be leading worship tomorrow morning, bright and early and we’re the ones that end up getting blessed.

By the way, I saw a post from the left yesterday about Republicans hating Christ because they are trying to keep the Bush tax cuts. It went on and on with scriptures to prove their point.

I wanted to say “God said, “thou shalt not steal” and he only asks for 10%. Instead, I said a little prayer before de-friending the person. Tired of arguing with them.

A friend of mine posted the same picture.

She’s never been at our church, where, the week before Christmas — the entire gymnasium and hallways are filled with presents, piles of gift cards, food (including a full-course turkey or ham dinner) and clothing for families and people in need. No one asks about their religion, they are simply identified and then “adopted” by the congregation. Hundreds of volunteers wrapping, collecting, marking, even delivering to families who cannot get to the church, plus those making & serving food for the volunteers and drop-ins. It warms my heart every season :)

My retired father had a heart attack and died instantly at the Baton Rouge Food Bank. He had been there all day and night before. There was a lot of food to distribute because there were a lot of donors and Katrina refugees in Baton Rouge at the time. They were in a rush because much of the food was frozen and needed to get unloaded and into refrigerators quickly in the Baton Rouge heat.

DONT TELL ME CHRISTIANS DON'T SERVE THE POOR AT THE FOOD BANK.

They’re so ignorant. Churches have more ministries than any lib could count

But then again, how would these heathens know They haven’t been to church since they were babies...infant babies that is, as opposed to the crybabies they are today

One of my liberal friends posted this to my facebook too.

I responded that I didn’t know they had food banks or homeless shelters went Jesus walked on this planet. I also told him that back in his day it was Christians that were being fed to the lions.

His response....crickets.

A typical liberal rationalization.

First off that’s a lie...of course those who’ve never belonged to a church wouldn’t know. Second these most likely were people from all walks who believe in the first amendment. So unlike the facist left.

I think that no matter what the caption says on that picture, the underlying image of all those people lining up at CFA shows that the lefties lost this one. The caption then becomes just impotent anger.

http://sbcvoices.com/beyond-chikin-and-kissin-are-people-in-pain/ And of course the Christians and some conservatives are jumping right on board, falling for the Saul Alinsky tactics, HOOK. LINE. SINKER.

I would expect such from progs, but I was gobsmacked Wednesday evening by comments by someone I don’t know, but is a member of my church. We both posted on a friend’s Facebook post (one of his Tweets* got picked up by the Houston Chronicle’s website) & apparently there is a whole subset of Christian commentators who are “grieved” over this display that is “hurting” the feelings of the gay etc. community. I clicked on a few of them & they are mostly Gen Y. One of them quoted the SPLC’s classification of the Family Research Council as a “hate group.” Judgmental much?

*The Tweet was something to the effect “I’m so glad it’s not Long John Silver’s we’re showing support for today!”

You wouldn’t see ANY liberals in line to help at a homeless shelter, so what was the point of that again?

That was probably created by somebody who opposed George W. Bush's "faith-based initiatives." It was probably the same person who sued to stop religious prayer at soup kitchens.

In March, 2012, Mayor Bloomberg In NYC banned donations of food to shelters. I’m not sure about posting links, but here is one dated March 19, 2012.

My favorite, and I believe largest local homeless shelter/crisis center:

http://www.karm.org/

Knox Area Rescue Ministries: Restoring Lives in Jesus’ Name. On their home page:

“For I was hungry and you gave me food...

I was a stranger and you welcomed me.”

Funny...

liberals don’t give to charity or volunteer their time.
They attain their “righteousness” by empowering gov’t to make everyone else do their charity.

I've never visited or helped at a homeless shelter, but I have volunteered dozens of times over lots of years at the Salvation Army. My gaydar never even twitched once.

I've never felt the need to divulge that but the pervert who created that graphic is delusional and has a very creative imagination, for someone who has never volunteered.

I know the assertion in that graphics is 100% BS. It's not funny, but I laughed out loud to realize that a deviant is telling me what Jesus said or thinks.
