‘Totally Heterosexual’ Anti-Chick-fil-A Tough Guy Fired for Bullying Drive-Thru Girl
The Blaze ^ | 8/3/2012 | Becket Adams

Posted on 08/03/2012 9:07:17 AM PDT by Beave Meister

It appears Blaze readers weren’t the only ones disgusted by the actions of Adam M. Smith, the grown man who recorded a video of himself berating a female employee at a Chick-fil-A drive-thru in Tucson, Ariz.

It looks like his former employers at Vante were just as displeased:

Vante regrets the unfortunate events that transpired yesterday in Tucson between our former CFO/Treasurer Adam Smith and an employee at Chick-fil-A. Effective immediately, Mr. Smith is no longer an employee of our company.

The actions of Mr. Smith do not reflect our corporate values in any manner. Vante is an equal opportunity company with a diverse workforce, which holds diverse opinions. We respect the right of our employees and all Americans to hold and express their personal opinions, however, we also expect our company officers to behave in a manner commensurate with their position and in a respectful fashion that conveys these values of civility with others.

We hope that the general population does not hold Mr. Smith’s actions against Vante and its employees.

As TheBlaze’s Mike Opelka noted this morning, Smith believes the chicken chain is really hateful. So, naturally, he decided to record himself harassing a Chick-fil-A employee for having the nerve to work for such a “horrible” company.

Even DUmmieland is mostly in favor of that jerk getting fired. Imagine being too much of a Clymer for even them to support.

Heh, heh, heh! On Thursday, I went to that company's web site and messaged them to fire his sorry ass.

I guess I wasn't the only one!

as of last night, the revulsion-to-praise ratio on his Youtube page was running about 400 to 5

Interestingly, this ratio reflects their population demographic, and perhaps an inclination toward collectivism and group think.

I may be in the minority here, but I believe it's a shame that someone was fired for their personal views from any job.

Was this guy a first class a$$-hat? Yes. Was this guy delusional in believing he was so tolerant that he could berate others for their view, in a really rude form? Yes. Was this guy just unbelievably rude and insensitive? You bet.

However, at the same time, if he brought bad publicity to the company I can see them making a decision to let him go. And I certainly support the decision of any company to fire someone who brings bad publicity to the company.

The biggest problem I can see is that the leftists are using Stalin's principals to try to destroy those they don't agree with. The last thing we want to do is start using the same tactics. In stead, we need to shine the light on their actions. Like when the anti-Prop 8 forces got a hold of the doner lists for people who supported it, and then went after them personally, trying to shut down the business where they worked, and even protesting at their homes.

We must NEVER take up their tactics. I'm not saying to just sit there are take it, but we must not join them in the gutter.

Mark

After just receiving my “Eat Mor Chikin” cups today I made an attempt to begin the process of purchasing a franchise as I have been in the market for a business for over a year.

While filling out the online request for information packet, it became apparent they have no plans for opening any stores in NY (Western NY) in the near future.

While I can certainly understand NY not being a prime target for them, it is disappointing that I cannot at least be in the running for the 1 of the 50-70 franchises they offer each year from over 10,000 applications (I saw a 20,000 figure on one site).

The corporation follows my position exactly. I can be against a legal, albeit debatable behavior, but under no circumstances would I let my belief get in the way of hiring or serving my customers.

The head of Chick-Fil-a is following his beliefs and the beliefs of the founders of this country to the letter yet some very hateful people are projecting their hate towards him.

Today I went to the closest Chick-fil-A right at noon. Zero protestors and zero fugly muggin' idiots were lurking about. Maybe I missed it?

Regardless, I purchased some great tasting chicken!

I would profer that as an officer of a company Mr. Smith probably signed a 'moral terpitude' clause in his contract and stated he agreed to the understanding that he could be fired for cause, and those causes were listed in the contract which probably included behavior outside of the buisness which reflected poorly on the company.

I have noticed for the last few hours that this Adam Smith video (the one that various news services are linking to) appears to be “stuck” at 149,039 hits on my computer.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=bPLNgkP9nzc#!

You don’t think YouTube would be suppressing hit counts, do you? Could it be my cookies or something?
