Obamacare’s 184 Million Christian Slaves
Conservative HQ ^ | 8/3/12 | Richard A. Viguerie

Posted on 08/03/2012 12:04:38 PM PDT by xzins

Yesterday marked the beginning of their slavery for the 78 million Catholics, 100 million Evangelicals, 6 million Mormons, and the millions of other American believers of other faiths who oppose all or part of Obamacare on religious grounds.

To those who say “slave” is a word too charged in American history to be used in this context, I say perhaps “bondsman” -- the word Lincoln used in his Second Inaugural Address -- will fit even better.

For how else do you describe the situation of a person who has no choice and is forced to labor to the benefit of others, whose situation can be changed at the whim of his oppressor and who is punished if he objects or tries to leave?

That is, however, exactly the situation in which those believers who oppose the so-called “contraception and contraceptive counseling” provision mandate in Obamacare find themselves.

Under this provision of Obamacare, women will have “free” access to all Food and Drug Administration-approved contraceptive methods, including abortion-inducing drugs AND sterilization procedures. Click here to sign our petition to defund Obamacare.

As writers at the Heritage Foundation noted, this “signals the beginning of a season of impossible decisions for employers who, for reasons of conscience, have not been paying for abortion-inducing drugs, contraception, or sterilization for their employees. Employers are now required to offer these services for “free”—meaning the employers pick up the cost of including these services in their health insurance plans.”

In other words, the Obamacare mandate will force employers into an untenable choice: violate their deeply held beliefs or risk steep fines.

If having the fruits of your labor forcibly stripped from you to pay for something you not only oppose, but you believe actually hurts you, isn’t a form of bondage, what would you call it?

Who are the victims of this new form of bondage?

The “bondsmen” now include Catholic charitable institutions, such as hospitals and social service organizations, evangelical colleges and universities, and small businesses owned by Evangelical or Catholic faithful who live their faith in their daily lives.

But even more insidious than the economic bondage Obamacare imposes on Americans is its mental bondage.

For the first time since the Civil War, one American now has the right to tell another American not just how to act, but how to think. Under Obamacare, the Obama Administration says that business owners’ rights to religious freedom can’t inform their everyday lives, since “for-profit, secular employers generally do not engage in any exercise of religion protected by the First Amendment.”

If you refuse to be a “bondsman” to the centralized secular state Barack Obama and his liberal allies are creating then please join the thousands of others who have signed our petition opposing Obamacare.

Obamacare’s 184 Million Christian Slaves

Hussein 0bama has demonstrated, without revealing his transcripts, that he is a slow learner and does not understand American culture. He may find that Americans will not abide by a DICTATOR!

The author has a title that is right on the money.

We are being told what we can think and what we cannot think.

This contraception ruling, the Chick fil a free speech/religious speech issue, the Massachusetts forbidding of Catholic adoption agencies, and so much more.

We are on the road to a dictator in the vein of Nero/Caligula.

What was bad about slavery? The hard work? No, many people worked hard for little or no wages. The beatings? No, many people were beaten by employers. The “BAD” thing about slavery was the loss of freedom.

The Apostle Paul wrote: "If is for freedom that Christ has set you free."

Obama & co burn the Constitution and trample the flag, but let’s hit him with a petition, that’ll fix him.

I’m guessing a significant percentage of Catholics will not vote for the Kenyan because of this. This could cost him the election.

The petition, LL, is to the GOP leadership about living up to their word to repeal ObamaCare with the first step of defunding it.

I disagree with Viguerie. "Slave" isn't too charged a word IMO. He should've used it. Because that what we have become with ObamaCare.
