Chick-fil-A faces vandalism, ‘human rights violation’ complaints for defending marriage

SPRINGFIELD, IL, August 3, 2012 (LifeSiteNews.com) - A gay rights advocacy group in Illinois has launched a series human rights complaints with Illinois state government against Chick-fil-A for supporting marriage, the day before a national homosexual “kiss-in” was planned to take place.

After filing the complaint Thursday with the Illinois Department of Human Rights, Jacob Meister, Governing Board President of The Civil Rights Agenda (TCRA) said that Chick-fil-A’s stance on marriage was to blame for a widespread stigmatization of homosexual individuals.

“In our current high speed media and social media environment, Chick-fil-A has announced and caused to be published, to hundreds of millions of people, that LGBT people are unacceptable and objectionable,” said Meister. “They have made it clear the lives of LGBT individuals are unacceptable to them and that same-gender families are unwelcome at Chick-fil-A.” The attorney alleged that Chick-fil-A’s “intolerant corporate culture” violated Illinois law.

Meanwhile, gay rights supporters on Friday launched a “Kiss-In Day” in front of Chick-fil-A restaurants across the country in response to the August 1 “National Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day.” Both events came in reaction to CEO Cathy’s statements last month supporting Biblical values for traditional marriage, words that prompted the mayors of Boston and Chicago to call for the banishment of the chicken chain. D.C. Mayor Vincent Gray followed suit, dubbing the company’s famous sandwich “hate chicken.”

Chick-fil-A officials confirmed this week that the sales on August 1, which saw thousands of supporters clog lobbies, drive-thrus, and even nearby traffic as they waited for a turn at a hot chicken meal, broke records. Pastor Rick Warren had tweeted that CEO Dan Cathy said the chain had surpassed a new world record.

The homosexual “kiss-in” has been used by the gay lobby in several protests, particularly in Europe against the Catholic Church, where supporters planned such an event in front of Pope Benedict XVI during his visit to Spain in 2010. French demonstrators attempted the same in front of Notre Dame Cathedral the same year.

In terms of social media, the event has left less of a mark than Wednesday’s show of support. While Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day garnered over 670,000 supporters on a Facebook event page sponsored by Mike Huckabee, as of Friday afternoon, about 14,000 had signed up on the “National Same Sex Kiss Day at Chick-fil-A” Facebook event, and only two “kiss-in” images had been uploaded to the Tumblr account posted on the page.

Employees faced backlash both inside and outside their stores this week. A California Chick-fil-A was vandalized with large black graffiti spelling, “Tastes like hate.”

A viral video captured a man in Tuscon, Arizona, badgering a female Chick-fil-A employee on Wednesday for working for a “hateful corporation.”

“I don’t know how you live with yourself and work here, I don’t understand it,” said the man, Adam Smith, in the video of himself he posted on YouTube.

The company for which Smith was acting as CFO, the medical supply manufacturer Vante, said this week it immediately fired him after seeing the intolerant behavior in the video.

Keep pushing, homos.
Every action you take in this matter is another percentage point of defeat for your party in November.

Rush Limbaugh gives an excellent definition of Liberalism.

You know, when you get right down to it, maybe one of the best ways to explain liberalism to the uninitiated is to simply say that it is intolerant. It's a philosophy of "no." It's a philosophy of domination and "no," and it's not at all what people think it is.

It's not open-mindedness. It's not tolerance. It's not good intentions. It's not sweetness and light and love and all that. It's a philosophy of "no." It is intolerant. Socialism, fascism, communism, all forms of liberalism dictate behavior. You must conform. Individuals? Private businesses? You must conform to what they say. And if you don't they'll pass laws and regulations that force you to. And in order to have uniformity, there must be an enforcement mechanism, because people are not the same.

The Intolerance of Liberalism

Another thread had an article about how Amtrak (your Gov’t owned and funded railway) is promoting “Ride with Pride” for homosexuals

https://www.amtrakridewithpride.com

Beyond even this though - Note how this Amtrak site provides links to far left editorials and websites. Again, this is a Gov’t owned, taxpayer funded railroad.

How brazen it is. Government agencies are no longer even bothering with the pretense of political neutrality. They are openly political, and have declared war on conservatives.

Where did Gilbert come up with 670K supporters? I’d bet Georgia alone came up with that number.

I think this number may include the number of “likes” on a facebook page?

And another bump upward in the customer base for good ole Chick-Fil-A.

"Jacob Meister, Governing Board President of The Civil Rights Agenda (TCRA)"

I never heard of it, but from the Facebook page, it looks like it's a huge organization! (Is that Mister Meister on the left? I doubt he's the one on the right, although you never know!)

that Chick-fil-A’s stance on marriage was to blame for a widespread stigmatization of homosexual individuals.

So, let’s see. They take the comments Cathay made on a somewhat obscure radio interview and they blew it up into a national issue. And then they blame Chick-Fil-A for “widespread stigmatization”. Unreal.

That dummy who harassed the young lady at the drive-thru window has been fired....oh the irony.

And is now unemployable (FOREVER) in his chosen field.

He will soon be looking for work in the fast food industry ("Hey, I hear Chick-Fil-A is hiring, Adam!").

Anyone can “file” anything they want, no matter how ridiculous, just as long as it’s in the proper format.

Totally without merit. Dismissed. Next case.

Jacob Meister, Governing Board President of The Civil Rights Agenda

Jacob Meister was my high school classmate in suburban Milwaukee (Nicolet High School, 1983). This loser gained access to our class reunion database and improperly used it to solicit campaign contributions for his Senate campaign.

Never knew he was gay, but I'm really not surprised. He's always been a liberal nutbag.

These human rights complaints filed by a gay rights group in Illinois are totally bogus and blatant harassment. The Chick-fil-A owner said absolutely derogatory about 'gays' or that 'same-gender families' are 'unwelcome at Chick-fil-A'. They are putting words in his mouth and equating the support of tradiational marriage with 'hate'. What a crock! Mr. Cathy simply stated that he adhered to the Biblical definition of marriage; one man/one woman - and was glad that he could have a difference of opinion with others under our constitution. Apparently not, if the gay groups get their way.

Fortunately, although Americans have become very tolerant of gays and their endless demands to have their 'relationships' defined as a 'marriage', a majority of Americans see the screaming hatred being spewed by the left toward Dan Cathy and his popular business - and they don't like it. Not one bit. It's the rankest example of bullying over a disagreement on an issue that almost every major religion in the world opposes - homosexual behavior and that behavior being codified as 'marriage'.

The left and gay advocates will lose this fight because they picked on the wrong guy for the wrong reason. People are getting sick of left-wing bullies trying to ruin anyone who dares have an opinion different than theirs. As others have noted, this brouhaha will not help Obama one bit. The public revulsion with the left's bullying and Democrat politicians grandstanding as they condemn a man and a business for holding a very reasonable POV on a serious issue is going to cost Obama and the Democrats votes in November. Fortunately, they're too wrapped up in their fascist ideology to realize it.

How brazen it is. Government agencies are no longer even bothering with the pretense of political neutrality. They are openly political, and have declared war on conservatives.

Again, citing Rush Limbaugh from the article linked in my above post ...

People don't want the same things. They don't believe the same things. But if you are going to have uniformity -- which is what liberalism wants, 'cause that's equality to them: everybody being the same. Outcomes especially. Being the same. Nobody richer than anybody else. If you are to have that, you must have an enforcement mechanism that shuts down what? Creativity, choice, and innovation. You have to shut down all the things that differentiate people.

And in a free society, the things that differentiate people are creativity, choice, and innovation. And that has to be shut down. That is why, folks, an ever-expanding government is job one for liberals. Whatever expands government, whatever makes it bigger: Global warming, feminism, amnesty for illegals, whatever. Whatever needs more regulation, whatever needs more control, is sought "for the common good" and uniformity.

"It's all for the common good," they say. But anything that grows the government, that's job number one for liberals.

Government is the enforcement mechanism.

Government is the practical manifestation of the ideology of "no."

Government is where the intolerance is.

Government is the all-powerful engine that prevents innovation and choice and creativity.

You realize, of course, that NOT ONE STATE HAS VOTED FOR GAY MARRIAGE. It has been legalized through governmental means, be it the judicial system or, as is the case here in NY, through the State Legislature. This is how the GLBT community imposes their will on the masses.

We’re fed up with them. The “turnout” on 8/1 was demonstrative of that. The turnout on 11/6 will be even higher.

The more they push, the more we’re going to push back.

Having a perverse sexual lifestyle is a human right violation.
The day in which 2 individuals of the same gender can copulate and populate without any assistance of the opposite gender, well...never gonna happen.....so!

Some people just can’t adapt when the rules change. The Liberals have been pushing the envelope, having their own way, for so long they can’t even conceive the the idea that the other side would push back.

But they should. By all accounts, Chick-Fil-A Appreciation Day was friendly, fun, peaceful and covered a vast spectrum of America — but it was also a warning.

We’ve had enough. Stop pushing. Take your winnings, leave the table, sit down and shut up.

There are a lot more of us than there are of you.
