Let My People Know - About Israelis and Obama

There is nothing wrong with voting as an American and as a Jew who cares about the fate of the Jewish Homeland, says the writer. And this is how most Israelis see Obama.

There is the old joke that if you have two Jews in a room, you will have three opinions.

But let's hand it to President Barack Obama, he has been able to accomplish what even Moses couldn’t do, create a consensus among Jews - well at least Israeli Jews. They have, by a strong majority, united on one thing: They don’t like president Obama.

A recent poll commissioned by the Begin Sadat Center at Bar Ilan University and the Anti-Defamation League revealed that only 32% of Israelis have a positive view of Obama as compared to 2009, when his likeability among them was at 54%.[1]

Israelis tend to be an action oriented people, hence their ability to turn an arid desert into a high-tech verdant success in quick-time. They know talk is cheap, promises have expiration dates, and words make for poor armaments when rockets hit their towns and their buses are blowing up.

I have never understood the Jewish affinity for liberalism.

This is an appeal based upon preservation of Israel as a nation, but I would think Jewish values would be more compatible with conservatism than otherwise.

Too bad many American Jews don’t see Obama for ho he really is. Someone who would send them to concentration camps if he can get a way with it along with others who are not islamic.

There is quite a bit of history which leads to their disposition, covered well by Prager and Podhoretz. The bottom line is that American Jews largely emigrated from Europe, where there was rampant antisemitism and class restrictions (for non-Jews too).

In America, populated largely by European immigrants still held much antisemitism and class restrictions. The difference is that in America, one can rise above their class by smarts and hardwork.

However, the early immigrant Jews gained an affinity to the collectivist wing of the Democrat Party as means to move up in society.

This is ironic considering the level of antisemitism in the Democrat Party ie FDR, but it is difficult to appreciate this through their confirmation bias. That’s my lecture on the subject.
