Millions of people like ObamaCare. The idea of universal coverage appeals to many Americans, as does the ability to cover adult children on a parent's policy. Addressing the subject of pre-existing conditions and portability of health insurance are also...
In the Netherlands (under a similar system), as many as 40% of all deaths annually occur as a result of either assisted suicide or some form of euthanasia. Active euthanasia was legalized there in 2006, and the Dutch have proudly advertised that the rate of euthanasia has barely increased in the years since. However, the touted statistics have been gamed to exclude the use of "passive" euthanasia, also known as "Continuous Deep Sedation" (CDS), which has skyrocketed, accounting for as many as 49,500 deaths annually.
Dutch doctors are also placing patients into CDS under a protocol known as "intensified alleviation of symptoms," ostensibly to relieve their pain. The patient is then kept in this diminished state until his organs fail and death occurs, hastened by the effects of the sedation itself. Moreover, according to a report in the British medical journal The Lancet, 42% of the time, this scenario plays out without permission or notification of families or even the patient. These deaths are also not counted as either active or passive euthanasia, serving to further shroud the growing prevalence of state-sponsored killing...
The most compelling argument against ObamaCare has nothing to do with care or cost. It concerns power, and whether we, as citizens, choose to retain that power for ourselves or vest it in bureaucrats with whom we have no meaningful influence. ObamaCare is unconstitutional, although not for the reasons argued before the Supreme Court. Rather, ultimately, the ACA by necessity will abrogate the most fundamental right our maker reserved to us: our right to remain alive.

As more Americans delve into the disturbing details of the nationalized health care plan that the current administration is rushing through Congress, our collective jaw is dropping, and were saying not just no, but hell no!
The Democrats promise that a government health care system will reduce the cost of health care, but as the economist Thomas Sowell has pointed out, government health care will not reduce the cost; it will simply refuse to pay the cost. And who will suffer the most when they ration care? The sick, the elderly, and the disabled, of course. The America I know and love is not one in which my parents or my baby with Down Syndrome will have to stand in front of Obamas death panel so his bureaucrats can decide, based on a subjective judgment of their level of productivity in society, whether they are worthy of health care. Such a system is downright evil.
Health care by definition involves life and death decisions. Human rights and human dignity must be at the center of any health care discussion.
Rep. Michele Bachmann highlighted the Orwellian thinking of the presidents health care advisor, Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, the brother of the White House chief of staff, in a floor speech to the House of Representatives. I commend her for being a voice for the most precious members of our society, our children and our seniors.
We must step up and engage in this most crucial debate. Nationalizing our health care system is a point of no return for government interference in the lives of its citizens. If we go down this path, there will be no turning back. Ronald Reagan once wrote, Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Actually, a government bureau is the nearest thing to eternal life well ever see on this earth. Lets stop and think and make our voices heard before its too late.

They put those things in there like the coverage for children up to 26 to try to make the whole thing seem appealing...but that is like putting a drop of syrup in a large glass of raw sewage and saying it is tasty. A few individual things that seem beneficial sitting in the midst of thousands of other pages which are quite harmful.
acually, there is a “utopia”. But it requires the termination of government and corporations in the health insurance biz. If we get gov-corp out and personal responsibility back, the cost of letting your kids get so fat they get type 2 diabetes, the cost of smoking the cost of..., becomes a major motivator for better health less, expense. The current system is mandated pre-paid health care with a small amount of insurance on top, with no incentive to be healthy. Obamacare is worse, its a very expensive badge that promises the moon but when the time comes for service you’ll be SOL unless you got the $ to pay out of pocket.
I agree with the writer. This is an excellent article. Thanks for posting it.
While we’re at it, why not RomneyCare?
Both have an individual mandate and are basically just socialized medicine.
Both steal from the production members of society via legalized taxes and give that stolen money to someone else in the form of medical insurance that they did not earn.
RomneyCare even has a $50 Abortion included.
So why stop at ObamaCare, when you have it’s Grand-Daddy, RomneyCare, available as well?
Close to right...
Get government out of Health care/insurance altogether (including Medicare)! Then let folks decide on what they want. It’s true that more people will die without health care insurance but that is okay because it is their choice. I’m sorry, but paying 6 to 10 thousand a year for Health insurance is not only unreasonable but ridiculous (I can live a great life with that extra money ya know). If Health insurance is left up to the individual then costs will go down - after all we all want to live longer.
The problem is that the government has to help those that have no insurance - okay, then they will be provided help on a come first, serve first basis (at public cost)...who in their right mind would want that? Maybe they would get insurance?
Maybe it all comes down to the desire to live longer and hell with the cost (to others). If that is really the reason, then letting things work out above will solve that.
We have all become obsessed with living to 100 when we should really just be enjoying our life as long as we can. Believe me, living a couple years longer under dire circumstances are not the ideal!
Just let nature take its course and matters will improve. Sounds crass I know, but that is life!
Individual rights balanced with individual’s responsibilities and consequences.
Live how you want, but it could get expensive. We won’t pay for your poor choices.
I find it strange that the Dutch, of all people have adopted the bureaucratic process of determining who will live. One of the worst of the policies of the occupying Nazis. They have forgotten why they didn’t want to looses WWII.
The ultimate manifestation of obamacare is the absolute power of the government over the individual.
It is this distressing incoherence that delegates immense power to unelected, unaccountable bureaucrats. They are allowed to make momentous decisions through the writing of the implementing regulations, regarding the access, delivery, and availability of health care in America.
By this breathtaking fact, Congress could delegate the entirety of its purpose, its reason for being, to make law as per Article I Section 1 of our Constitution.
Welcome to Constitutional totalitarianism.
Well Obamacare Has Everything to do with Cost,REDUCING IT,and the way that is achieved is accomplished through the Comparative Effectiveness Research Panel, and the Independent Payment Advisory Board, both better known as death panels.
These are set up specifically for the Killing off of the Senior Population and THAT my friends is Because they are the BIGGEST COST of Healthcare.
Read Ezekiel Emmanuels,”Complete Lives System” to see it spelled out. Yes he is in Charge of Obamas Program
Again, when it comes to diabetes "Genes Count">
They were nearby and needed physicians, so they took just anybody irrespective of his or her history.
This form of treatment could help Harry Reid.
Continuous Deep Sedation = Obamacare
Our current system is not health insurance, its a hybrid prepaid health coverage with a small insurance policy that generally caps your payout to 500k-1mil per lifetime. True health inurance is the HSA, you pay for everything out of pocket and the insurance policy is there for catastrophic events. There was an article in the LA times a month or so back that looked at healthcare pricing. A $4700 had a $1200 copay. But cash $270. Pay cash and you eliminate all the administrative overhead, 40-50% of total cost. Then making the individual shop around pushes cost another 10-30%. We could put everyone in and HSA and fund those who can’t bank the requisite 5K/Y for a tiny fraction of total current spending, and et much better outcomes.
type 2 dubieties is a result not a cause. We’re not built to eat the types of refined corn found in 80% of the things on supermarket shelves. There is a recent study that showed it takes 20% more work to burn refined corn calories. Also another study found a highly caloric restricted diet(650 cals/d) for 6 weeks can cure type 2 in 85% of patents. With in 2 weeks insulin sensitivity was greatly improved and most were no longer technically diabetic. Our diet, the war on boys(the death of recess and running around and making everything safe and everybody wins mentality) prevents kids from learning the habit of physical activity and what we got were kids playing video games eating crap and getting diabetes and then heart disease and cancer because of the inflammation caused by the weight/diabetic issues.
