Schwarzenegger to head think tank
San Francisco Chronicle / SFGate.com ^ | Friday, August 3, 2012 | Carla Marinucci

As the unstoppable cyborg in "The Terminator," Arnold Schwarzenegger made "I'll be back" part of the national lexicon. Nearly two years after leaving California's highest elected office, he's making good on the promise in a big way.

The former Republican governor, who just turned 65, told The Chronicle that he will head up the Schwarzenegger Institute for Public Policy at University of Southern California, a think tank designed to explore "post-partisan" politics and global challenges.

Among the luminaries working alongside him are former Mexican President Vicente Fox, Austrian Chancellor Werner Faymann, former U.S. Housing and Urban Development Secretary Henry Cisneros and Nobel Prize-winning climate change scientist Rajendra Kumar Pachauri.

Schwarzenegger, who donated $20 million to the project, said he's convinced that his academic venture can bring together people from across the political spectrum to solve key problems such as climate change, crumbling infrastructure and health care reform. He keeps in mind, he says, his philosophy when it comes to such landmark efforts: "Never give up. Just try and push - and push and push."

Let me guess, they’re going to use his head as the tank.

Think tank.

Duh Terminador should hope it’s not filled with water as it might rust his brain and he won’t be capable of any deep thinking.

He may be somewhat ‘thick-headed’, but he and Daffy Duck would make a great ticket against “Psycho-O’Bozo” and Putz. The ticket would be more evenly balanced

That, and there’s probably good money to be had from various grants he’ll have access to.

Arnold was a tanker in the Austrian army back in the day. He might not understand this is not that kind of tank.

They can have all the think-tanks they want as long as they spend their own damned money.

Oh, goody. Another politically correct do-nothing factory. THAT will solve all our problems: a bunch of "diverse" eggheads sitting around sipping chablis and chatting about Kierkegaard over tofu and brie.

You'd get more done if you turned loose a gang of good-ole boys with a keg of Blue Ribbon and some Cheetos.
