Kenney is too fil-A himself (Philadelphia City Councilman)
Philadelphia Inquirer ^ | 08/05/2012 | George Parry

Vast expanses of Philadelphia are crumbling, postindustrial wastelands bordered by neighborhoods ravaged by drugs and mindless violence. Our schools are failing, and revenue-producing private commerce is leaving as our feckless city government leads us on an economic death spiral of high taxes, excessive spending, and onerous government regulation.

So, when confronted by one of the nation's highest murder rates, rampant street crime, a declining economy, and an eroding tax base, to what should City Council devote its time and resources?

Why, jolly-stomping Chick-fil-A restaurants, of course.

It must be because CFA does not sell any chicken version of the Philly cheesesteak.

Very Philthy.

Philadelphia is a cesspool because it has been led by liberals for decades.

Until the people of Philadelphia revolt against these liberal leaders, it will continue to be a cesspool.

The only good that has come from the Chick-Fil-A story is we now have liberals on record as trying to use their gov’t power to punish speech they disagree with.

Received this from my former pastor’s wife in this morning’s email, it is from her current pastor. He is a ASG pastor in Tipton, County, TN. I would not put it past them to do this. And lib colleges will go along with it. Never mind thousands of innocent people will lose a job. If it happens at colleges it will happen at malls, airports, etc. too.

I have NO WAY TO VERIFY IF MSM IS HIDING IT!

Thought you would want to know this.

Greg Love

Christians need to know about this.

This is a friend of mine. Her husband is the architect for the stand alone Chick-Fil-As. Please let others know. Mary Johnston

Please pass this along!

Hi Friends,

Most of you have probably heard about the issues going on with Chick-Fil-A and the “anti-gay” controversy. Because CFA is one of Keith’s clients, he has asked me to share some info that you may not be aware of. This whole issue started on the college campus and that is what is being affected. Keith is responsible for all non traditional stores. (college campus, hospitals, malls, airports, etc.) The media has distorted and flat out lied about what Dan Cathy said in his interview. As a result the gay community is working overtime to damage CFA. This hit the media last Wednesday and by Monday of this week 33 college campus locations have called to close their CFA stores. As of this morning the number is up to 40. Two universities will literally be closing by tomorrow.Three critical ones are Penn. State, University of Louisville, and St Louis University. Keith feels that since most people don’t know about all the college stores, the general public doesn’t see the gays as doing much damage, nor are they aware of how CHRISTIANS can help CFA. The CFA stores on the college campus locations are under fire from the LGBT community. For those of you who do facebook or know how to tweet...NOW is the time to do it! TODAY IF POSSIBLE! Tell as many people as you know to get in touch with the Mike Huckaby Show and ask him to air on his show how the colleges are being attacked and suggest that he encourage the christian students to start petitions to keep their stores open. They need to go to the presidents of their college and make their voices heard. Most students don’t even know that their CFA on campus is being affected. I am amazed at the “QUICK” organization of the gay community and their power to PRESSURE college presidents to remove the stores. You can go to the CFA website to get a list of all the college campus locations; there are about 180 stores. PLEASE HELP GET THE WORD OUT! FIRST AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, PRAY! SECOND GET ON YOUR COMPUTER AND PASS THIS EMAIL TO EVERYONE WHO WILL HELP SPREAD THE WORD VIA FACEBOOK OR PHONE CALLS. IF THE GAYS CAN CLOSE CFA STORES IN ONE WEEKS TIME, CHRISTIANS NEED TO BE JUST AS ACTIVE.

If you can think of any other public voice (radio, newspaper, etc.) please ask them to get the word out to the students to petition and appeal to the college presidents to keep the CFA’s open at their school.

Thanks,

Tonia

The problem is the people of Philadelphia are the cess in the pool.

I am sure there are some good folks among them ,but not enough to get Democrats out of power.

Wow, this columnist really shredded the Philly city council, this quote especially:

“On a broader front, do Kenney and City Council think that imposing an ad hoc speech code on private citizens and officially stigmatizing them for daring to exercise their right to free speech will help draw commercial enterprises to our town?”

Philadelphia is a cesspool because it has been led by liberals for decades.

As have Washington D.C, Detroit, and several major California cities.

Now that's a good one! That should be on O'Reilly's word-of-the-day.

"This may come as a news flash to Kenney and the other Rhodes scholars over at City Hall, but businesses aren't exactly breaking down the doors to set up shop in Philadelphia. Could it be that, in addition to the uncompetitive tax structure, rampant crime, and dismal city services, many entrepreneurs — like, say, Dan Cathy — sense that Philadelphia has a poor to outright hostile business climate?

Mind you, Chick-fil-A hasn't broken the law or denied service to homosexuals. And, by all accounts, its seven Philadelphia locations are clean, well-run, and provide badly needed jobs and tax revenues. But none of this appears to count for much as Kenney thunders his outrage "

LMAO! After how Penn State has been treated here by so called conservatives, it amuses me that a post is asking for help to keep Chik-fil-A on a campus many want nuked.

Good luck with that. Chik fil-A is the least issue at Penn State, lol. “Conservatives” on this board not only abandoned Penn State, the most Conservative Campus in the Northeast, they want it decimated.

After what the Media, BOT and NCAA did to Penn State, even a Chick-fil-A won’t survive in State College. The media wins another one.

The corrupt philly political machine is working overtime. I sincerely hope the voters aren’t as stupid as they’ve been lately. Not holding my breath. I’m glad I got out when I did.

Amen to that! But having landed in Maryland, I'm out of the frying pan, into the fire! LOL!!

Very sad, but predictable, what has happened to this once terrific city. I'm saddened and angered every time I read about the slime that runs and ruins the city.

But, as we proved, escape is possible!
