In Nevada, the Name to Know is Reid (2003)
Los Angeles Times ^ | June 23, 2003 | Chuck Neubauer and Richard T. Cooper

WASHINGTON — It was the kind of legislation that slips under the radar here.

The name alone made the eyes glaze over: "The Clark County Conservation of Public Land and Natural Resources Act of 2002." In a welter of technical jargon, it dealt with boundary shifts, land trades and other arcane matters -- all in Nevada.

What Reid did not explain was that the bill provides a cavalcade of benefits to real estate developers, corporations and local institutions that were paying hundreds of thousands of dollars to his sons' and son-in-laws'firms, federal lobbyist reports show. . .

If Reid was an R he would have been put in the slammer a long time ago but since he's a D, nothing will happen.

Continue to pass GO, Harry, collect your $200 and carry on.

Dirty Harry Reid: The Mafia's "Mr. Clean Face" on the Nevada Gaming Commission

Reid is so mobbed up that he's a walking, talking blackmail puppet. Axlerod could order him to strip naked on the Senate floor and tar and feather himself and he would do so instantly.

Read Freeper Fedora's excellent investigative thread to understand this human slimeball, and why he is willing to be a tool in this libel campaign: he has NO CHOICE. He is a Mafia and Chicago Rat Mob puppet.

Dirty Harry Reid Got $1.1M In Shady NV Land Deals: one example of how it was done.

Dirty Harry Reid is so well known as a Mafia puppet, that he was featured in the movie Casino as "Harrison Roberts."

Thank you for posting this. I remember these events, and have mentioned them from time to time here at FR, but never had the links.

Reid got federal land privatized so it could be developed for the benefit of several Nevada cities. That by itself is unusual; how often does the federal government sell off its land holdings?

But what I noticed was that the various towns involved, and some of the developers, were paying fees to $250k to $350k basically for the privilege of talking to Harry Reid.

Does Reid take bribes? This is how its done. It costs a quarter of a million plus to talk to him, and you pass the money through his son. Is it legal? He’s a lawmaker and his sons are lawyers; I’m sure they know where the legal lines are drawn. Is it moral and ethical? You can draw your own obvious conclusions.

Biden had the same arrangement with his son, who was also a “lobbyist”. His son made something like $1.7 million a year as a “lobbyist”. He said it was legal because if he had to talk to his dad, he would send someone else from his office rather than go personally. So when Biden talks about how poor he is, you can remember this. Later his son and his brother launched a takeover of a hedge fund, so they seem to have some money.

I can't post the linked story because of a copyright complaint but it is a Nevada news source that says Harry Reid is pressuring Nevada electric utilities to add more high-cost solar power to the grid to accommodate a Chinese solar company represented by one of Reid's lobbyist sons:

It's what the FBI now calls “Pay to Play.” The feds could put an accounting team on the myriad paper trails to get a picture of the conspiracy. Reid has a net worth listed at between $3 million and $10 million. How much is he hiding offshore or in gold coins?

Harry Reid- nepotism; unethical if not outright illegal land investment deals in return for political favors to those who extended said investments; grinding businesses to bend to his will so that he might personally benefit... and then there's the slanderous smears against Romney. Shameful. He ought to be shackled and fed bologna sandwiches for the duration of his remaining years in a squalid desert tent-prison camp where he'll get lots of rays, and we'd get to see just how much he likes solar energy after all!

I think he's really emblematic of what is wrong with our current constituted government. The posterchild for cronyism- a traitor on par with Obama The Oppressive. And WTH is wrong with Nevadans who keep enabling his treachery? They are essentially accessories through their actions of electing him and/or neglect in looking the other way for untold years while he steals our hard earned money for himself and fosters evil more generally.

Whew, I'm glad I got that off my chest. Thanks.
