Cruz: Tea party ‘overwhelmingly’ behind Romney
The Washington Times ^ | August 5, 2012 | Sean Lengell

Ted Cruz, who rode a tea party wave to win the Texas Republican Senate nomination last week, said Sunday the movement will “overwhelmingly” support Mitt Romney in the November presidential election.

Mr. Cruz said tea party activists will rally in defense of the presumptive Republican presidential nominee because they’re “energized” to defeat President Obama.

“I have spoken with literally thousands and thousands of tea party activists, and I have yet to met a single tea party leader that is not going to vote for Mitt Romney and work hard for him,” Mr. Cruz said on Fox News Sunday.

“Our country is in crisis, and we’ve got to stop this Obama agenda if we’re going to preserve opportunity for our kids and grandkids.”(continued)

Dear Mr. Cruz....

Don't believe everything you "hear". That burning in your bosom is not the eternal truth..... It's just indigestion.

No, not really. But When my choices are between a bucket of warm urine and a bucket of cold urine; I guess I have to take the bucket of piss and just remember to dump it as soon as possible for something better. I really wish I had got Jack qualified for the ballot. Jack is my good old boy Black Lab; trust worthy, alert, never lies to me or anyone else and is a whole lot smarter and more honorable than any of these pieces of crap we get to choose from.

They are behind Romney because he’s not Obama. See my tagline.

The radicals here on FR won’t.

Are you including the owner of this site in your assessment?

Why not?

JR is every bit as irrational about Romney as pissant was about Sarah Palin.

I'm a Catholic, that's irrational, you cannot reason your way to Jesus Christ.

You radicals that hate Romney are irrational, but that's your belief and you have every right to be wrong.

A little premature. Myth is not yet the official nominee
of the GOP, he still has to get the nod from a majority of GOP convention delegates.

Sarah Palin NOW has a perfect record of 5/5 for endorsing winners of early Senate races. Where was Mitt while Sarah was delivering the goods? Myth didn’t help any of them.

Sarah will be at the GOP convention. I can hardly wait until Myth meets reality.Cruz will have to witness it, the tea party being “overwhelmingly” behind Myth, an unlikely occurance of vast proportions.

I am furious that I have been forced to choose between these two douche bags. This is the most disappointing election of my lifetime. The only reason I’m even going to show up to vote at all is to vote for Josh Mandel and whatever other Republicans happen to be running for office in Ohio. Romney though? no way.

“Cruz: Tea party ‘overwhelmingly’ behind Romney”

Cruz is a gentleman.

Translation: “Tea Party is overwhelmingly ready to bury JugEars.”

You radicals that hate Romney are irrational, but that's your belief and you have every right to be wrong.

Then what are you doing on America's premier conservative website? Or did you mistakenly assume that this was a Republican site?

So Jim is irrational. Nice.

actually, not voting for Romney is a perfectly rational decision for any real conservative. It’s the “anybody but Obama” people that are completely irrational.

I believe that is a true statement from the people who I have talked with. The radicals here on FR won’t.

I resemble that remark. Its ABO for 99% of conservatives and Tea Party types. There are not that many conservatives so fringey or crazy that they want 4 more years of the Obama disaster.

Just when I thought I was gonna like the guy he goes and says something really stupid.

I believe he is right. He believes he is right. What is stupid about saying something you believe to be right? I actually find it quite refreshing from the doublespeak. No need to decipher. Do you think he is wrong, that the Tea minded will overwhelmingly support President Obama?

You are going to be disappointed. They will back Romney 100%. They are.....not irrational.

You may be right. If the Tea Party is overwhelmingly behind Romney then I may not be the Tea Party type that I thought I was. That’s the trouble with labels I guess.

I agree, EPU.
The Tea Party is a group of patriots who support founding American principles and values...and is anything but a PAC.

Cruz better watch what he says...because that statement doesn’t hold true for this Tea Partier.

“Sarah will be at the GOP convention.”

I doubt it. Only Catamites for Willard will be welcome at the Geriatric Old Plotters convention show.

Romney is called flip flop when he changed positions when situation call for it (like perhaps when donation would fly from him). Around here, among Freepers, such action is called ‘truce’.
