Sikh temple shooting suspect identified as Wade Michael Page; Motivation unclear
CBS News ^ | August 6, 2012

Posted on 08/06/2012 6:03:54 AM PDT by Zakeet

The suspect in a shooting that left six people dead at a Sikh temple in suburban Milwaukee on Sunday has been identified as Wade Michael Page, who served in the U.S. Army for about six years.

According to sources in the U.S. Army, Page enlisted in April 1992 and given a less-than-honorable discharge in October 1998. He served at Fort Bliss, Texas, in the psychological operations unit in 1994, and was last stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, attached to the psychological operations unit. The details of his discharge were not immediately clear.

Wade was killed outside the temple in a shootout with police officers after the rampage that left terrified congregants hiding in closets and others texting friends outside for help.

Officials had previously described the suspect as a heavy-set, 40-year-old Caucasian with numerous tattoos.

Sources tell CBS News some unspecified evidence suggests race or ethnicity may have played a role in the violence, but no links to extremist groups have been confirmed.

Local police called the attack an act of domestic terrorism, but other sources tell CBS News correspondent Bob Orr it may be more accurate to refer to "an investigation into a possible hate crime."

Neither the local nor the federal sources provided further details or suggested a possible motive, including whether the suspect specifically targeted the Sikh temple.

The types of military discharges:

Honorable; General (under honorable conditions); Under Other than Honorable Conditions (OTH); Bad Conduct (also known as the BCD; and Dishonorable.

The last two discharges come at Court-Martial proceedings. The General and OTH discharges come from administrative means. Such as failures to do your job, DUI cases, being over weight, etc. They also come from some types of misbehavior and having multiple Article 15s under the UCMJ (those are punishments by commanders at company or battalion level which can reduce a soldier in rank, take away pay, restrict movement, extra after hours duties, etc.). Generally soldiers who simply cannot or willnot conform. You also could, used to be, discharged for being a homo.

Sikhs do not have an aversion to firearms.

There have been Sikh winners of the Victoria Cross and other medals of valor.

There is also a Wade M. Page who was a Commander in the Navy in 2010 - people need to be careful whom they indict.

Wish I knew how to play chess.

CIA having trouble with Sikhs in Middle East interfering with their plans to use radical Muslims to control the Middle East and stabilize it for the drug traffic.

You would think a guy in the military would know the difference between Sikhs and Wahabbists, or whatever you want to call them. Then again, experience teaches that some people, even in the military, are dumb as a rock.

He would be an easy mark to push over the edge, and given some guidance as to target. This temple had special visitors from the Middle East. First one shot was the main guest.

I think the rest were shot for effect. Pawns are taken off the board, and the power base changes.

Crazy ? Tin-foil hat ?

Yes. None of the above can be proven. It can be witnessed, though, and you are seeing it happen daily.

Guns and Drugs are two of the most wanted commodities on the planet (Note: I said ‘wanted’. ‘needed’ is another story). The game is to control it so they make money.

Everything happening right now is an attempt to control/monitor drugs and guns, and extract money from the sales and crime. Half of Arizona has already been ceded to the Mexican Druglords. We are being reduced to a populace of tribes who take drugs before we go out and attack another tribe, because they caused the rain to go away.

Demoralization
Destabilization
Chaos
Normalcy

We are in the Chaos stage (Yuri Bezmenov’s labels for the stages of complete takeover of the US by IDEOLOGICAL SUBVERSION)

I heard he grew a beard and nobody knows what to do about it.

Apparently he's been growing a beard. Showed up in court with it and the judge fined him for contempt of court.

Eventually, (maybe after the election ?) they will get around to finishing the pre-trial. When the trial might (if) occur is another story.

Am I the only one who thinks the timing of this...so close to the Aurora shootings...seems a little suspect? Maybe I need to make a tinfoil hat for real...

Words you will never read in a mainstream newspaper:

“The suspect may be a muslim extremist”

But they have no trouble saying the suspect “may be” a white supremicist.

Of course, the white supremicists won’t blow up your newsroom if you say the wrong thing.

I don’t think that is the same guy. That email address has several listings associated on Gun Trader and shows he lives in South Carolina, not Wisconsin. Example:

http://scguntrader.com/customlist/3

I also found someone by the same name on Facebook in South Carolina and he was much younger (graduated HS in 97)

It is such a common name, it isn’t good to jump onto any connection without proof.

So active duty Muslim shots up military base= NOT TERRORISM

Dishonorably discharged white guy shoots up Sikh Temple IMMEDIATELY = DOMESTIC TERRORISM

did I miss something?/sarc

He was a loser as the Army throws idiots like him out on a fast chapter 13 with a General discharge. I wish it were not so, but; it takes too much time to court martial the losers from drug addicts to you name it. These idiots take up a First Sergeant’s and Company CO’s time. The CO calls Div or CORP JAG. JAG advises. THE CG authorizes the admin out/discharge.

Sikhs also wear “magic underwear” (Kachhera), much like devout Mormons, and for much the same reason. Doubt anybody is going to be making fun of them for it, though.

No, it is not magical. My company's India office has many Sikhs and I am very familiar with their "rules"

The sikhs have an order called the "Khalsa". This is the highest a Sikh can aspire to be. Traditionally "Sikh" and "Khalsa" are used interchangeably but they are not the same.

Khalsas are held to the strict standard of carrying a sword and wearing a turban and also three other rules: namely, wearing underwear, having a comb and wearing a steel bracelet.

The reason for those things is purely military. As the Khalsa order was fighting the Muslims, the last Sikh guru wanted to instill discipline in the order by making them have a "uniform". By asking all Khalsas to wear Turbans and have long beards, he made them recognizable for the order that they were. In addition he imposed "cleanliness" rules that asked men to wash daily, comb and maintain their hair and wear clean clothes.

Thus the "underwear" rule. It enforces cleanliness and bathing in a continent and age (17th century) where people had neither. Khalsas will bathe (especially in the countryside) at freaking 5 AM in the morning with ice cold HImalayan water. It is unbelievable to watch. Many of their historic churches (gurdwaras) also have communal bathing areas. Everytime you visit their churches in Punjab, you have to wash your feet and hands. Lots of washing going on :)

So, no "Magic Undewear". Just has to be underwear and clean, even if it is Fruit of the Loom and you should have bathed before you put it on.

But, it has to be the same guy. There can’t possibly be more than one Wade M. Page in the united states — and certainly not who would write on the internet.

The WWW makes it easy for us to smear the good name of people around the world, from the comfort of our parent’s basement.

See 58 & 54
