I think this is before your (and a lot of other posters) time. At least back in the 60's is was not uncommon for a State Fair midway (or the Brittish equivilent) to have a burlesque show which featured a juggler, a bad comic and an over the hill stripper. I know that was the case here in Indy at least until the late 60's.

Truthfully, I love EJ. In my opinion, he has handled his gayness with dignity and class. Lots of gay men could take note. He has not been outspoken, he doesn’t wear it like a badge and I believe he has been with the same partner for years.
And as an afterthought, I think the only thing he is still in the closet about is his conservatism.

We have a gay guy in our company. Sometimes he gets snarky at another older female employee. He beaches it up on her—pretty interesting dynamics going on.
Yeah, he's REALLY in the closet on that one! If Elton John is a conservative, I'm Madonna's latest boy toy.
LOL. One reason I don’t get too upset if Dame Elton makes a nasty comment about the Right or Christians is because he makes nasty, caty comments about pretty much everyone and everything. And if he’s not making nasty, spiteful, caty comments, he’s throwing Queen-sized tantrums over the most trivial of matters. He’s good entertainment in small doses.

Do you love the poor little child he adopted who will be corrupted by his ‘dignified’ and ‘classy’ gay “family.” Surely you don’t believe that ‘being with the same man’ is the same as being monogamous.
I can ‘tolerate’ your love for the entertainer Elton John, but I have trouble when Elton John and other gays force their gay lives on innocent children.
Madonna was hot in the 80s.
But now, after 20 years of drugs, alcohol and sleeping with everything that moves? I just want to vomit.
I’d rather date Elton John - he still looks okay after all these years - and I’m straight....
