Google being racists?
Google Start page ^

Maybe it's an accident, or maybe some insensitive punk slipped one by the honchos, but the Google start page today looks like a black man standing on a watermelon. Blacks and watermelons is a very old stereotype.

Even worse, it is animated. Google Those wacky lefties at Google (90%plus donation to Democrats).
TOPICS: Culture/Society; Miscellaneous; News/Current Events
KEYWORDS: google; racists; thatsracist; watermelon
I suspect it will get changed and disappear from their archives once it gets a little bad press.

Yeah...that's very unfortunate. Somebody wasn't looking very close at this graphic.
Of course...I'm skeptical whether anybody working at Google is actually old enough to remember/understand the stereotype. The children at Google are imbued with many, many intellectual deficits, of which this may be just one.

Is the track reddish? Are the sidelines green? Just wondering.

You’d have to really reach to say that the track he’s running on looks like a watermelon.

I don’t see it that way. It looks like a track. The green is just carried over from the green in the background.
I can see how someone would interpret it that way, but that’s true with just about anything. And tracks ARE that color.

Now, if they had him EATING a watermelon while he ran, I’d feel a bit differently about it.

Can you just imagine the hell that would have broken loose if FoxNews had run that graphic?

The watermelon eating comes after the race, along with fried chicken and an orange soda to wash it down. Will Google show that?

I figured other people would question it, too. It looks like the slice of watermelon I had yesterday. Green on the outside, red on the inside, and with seeds.
If this were a conservative website, it would be a bad day for them.

Seems to be too much detail to be coincidental. Coupled with the monkey commercial, it does appear the racist libs. at the MSM are showing their true colors.

I see why you might conclude that it was purposeful, but I seriously don’t think there was any racist intent.
Besides, in this world nowadays, almost anything is considered racist.
Heck, if they had an animation of two little girls, one black and one white playing pattycake, it would be seen as a white on black beat-down.
EVERYTHING is racist.

Looks more like small rocks. I’m just saying that maybe people are looking for something that’s not there. So again, is the track reddish, are the sidelines green?

I see it. The real track doesn't have divots so how do you explain the "seeds" in the Google image?
If this was Chik Fil A, Jesse Jackson would storm the castle.
To: Milton Miteybad
The intellectual deficits at Google go all the way to the childish old men at the top. The limo-liberals are going to wreck that business with ignorance just as they have done to the media industry.

It’s a drawing for crying out loud. The artist probably put those things that “look like rocks” for better definition of the track. Picky picky picky. I said “looks like small rocks” and that’s what they >look< like - I didn’t say they were. Read!

Seeds are black. The resemblance ends because of that, ergo, no watermelon.
