Gay marriage activists had a vision: Tuesday would be their clarion call for consumers to reject Chick-fil-A ... crowding into Starbucks and other more sympathetic companies.
Though its still early in the day, National Marriage Equality Day...seems to be getting a mostly mild start.
A Facebook profile created for the event by Equally Wed, a lesbian and gay wedding magazine, shows more than 34,000 people signed up to attend. But a photo page populated by submissions from supportive consumers had fewer than 20 images just before noon on the East Coast.
...
Let's show the right that the left can spend money on demand too, wrote one Twitter user...
Big crowds, however, werent on the menu.
Compare that with Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day last week... The event, inspired by comments from Chick-fil-A President Dan Cathy backing the biblical definition of the family unit," created traffic jams, out-the-door lines and record sales for the chicken chain. More than 670,000 people signed up on Facebook to attend.
Starbucks has well over 12,000 stores in the Americas; Chick-fil-A has slightly more than 1,600. ...
Initially, the event was focused on Starbucks, which recently threw its support behind legislation in Washington that would make gay marriage legal in the state.
But the coffee giants corporate office had no part in planning, instead reiterating the same statement it has used for months.
We deeply respect the views of our customers and our employees and recognize that theres genuine passion surrounding the topic. We have many constituents and from time to time will make statements that are consistent with our values and heritage even if they may be inconsistent with the views of a particular group.
The company declined to comment about a potential sales boost from Tuesdays event.

Starbucks in Canada used to burn the beans but for the past 5 or so years the coffee has been decent. Still way overpriced given the same product is 30% cheaper at Timmies or McDs. As a bonus, McDs coffee is free this week (they do the free coffee week a couple of times a year).
Like I say, I drink plain coffee because when made right it is naturally sweet, Starbucks is strong and bitter and expensive.
I think some people are so stupid that they see a crappy expensive drink as a status symbol. I remember Suzi Ormann when reorganizing women in debt finances telling them to stop taking their friends to Starbucks(on their credit card) , to prove my theory.
Now this....dumb spoiled liberals.
Starbucks uses poor quality beans and over roasts them, making their coffees too bitter and acidic.
People that know coffee know this. People that don’t know coffee really savor their bitter cup experience.

Before someone calls me on the carpet, I used my creativity when I posted the image. It isn't from today.
Here's the difference, you liberal idiots: No one attacked Starbucks. There were no Republican mayors in any Republican cities telling Starbucks they couldn't do business in their towns because their views on marriage were unacceptable. There's no real need for a Starbucks appreciation day, because Starbucks was not attacked.
Political correctness was designed to silence and intimidate people from speaking out against the left wing special interest groups and their sick agendas. ( Notice PC does NOT protect any right wing interest group. )
It was a brilliant thought control campaign. Thank God people are finally seeing through it and speaking out.
Unless it includes nudity, deviancy, debauchery, violence, destruction, defacement, looting, or paid “attendance”, no Lefty “organized” anything ever attracts much participation.
I don't even know what the "etc." part is but its probably on the agenda. ;-)
Harry Reid's friend told me that Starbucks does unnatural things to their coffee. /sarc
Try getting them to see a logical point, though ;-)
Well, it likely reflects a lot of what is going on today, from reports I am reading. :-)
I’m coming to the conclusion that gay people aren’t that impressed with this phony controversy either. The activists and the media lost this one bigtime, and I can tell you that alarm bells are ringing in the MSM over it, because if they can’t whip up a frenzy on this dry run, what is it going to be like in November?
=======================================================
Starbucks, if they had a Drag Show at noon, would be teeming with an assortments of deviants.
Yes, and what does it indicate for their wave of electoral victories predicted on the gay marriage question on the ballots, too.
That is what I was thinking.
Not to mention the gay marriage plank they’re writing into the Democrat party platform. Think anyone is getting a little uncomfortable yet?
I’m surprised McDonalds hasn’t put them out of business yet.

Wasn’t StarMegaBucks invented so the (so called) ‘beautiful people’ don’t have to be seen in a Mickey D’s?
Like Harry Reid said “We need this multimillion dollar visitors center because you can smell the tourists”?
Seriously, how is walking into a Starbucks considered a rejection of Chik-fil-a?
