Are white supremacists recruiting from within the ranks of the US military?

That question – revived by killings at a Sikh temple in Wisconsin this week – has been the fear of civil rights groups like the Southern Poverty Law Center, who have warned that hate groups encourage their members to join up for training and experience that they can later use to perpetrate crimes in the United States.

A former white supremacist who now trains the US military on how to recognize racism within its ranks, T.J. Leyden says he has been brought to military installations to educate service members who are concerned about troops becoming involved with gangs and neo-Nazi activities. “They want to know how to combat it,” he says, “and what they should be looking for.”

Mr. Leyden says he was encouraged to join the US Marines after becoming a skinhead. “The older guys in the white supremacy world were talking about it all the time,” he said. “They say, ‘This is a great option – you get some training.’ ”

They also recruit from among the US military. “A lot of the major white supremacy groups, they have chapters right outside military installations,” Leyden says. “They want people with military backgrounds.”

I would LOVE to see the NRA offer to train the Sikhs in the safe and legal use of firearms to protect themselves.

This incident should prove to the Sikhs, and everyone else, that the police can not protect you from violence.

Citizens, trained and armed, are the only protection for their family and loved ones.

Did anyone else notice that before anything about the dead suspect in the shootings was known the MSM was identifying him as a “white supremacist” and the Obama Administration was identifying him as a domestic terrorist and saying he was politically motivated? The Obama Administration was also saying this shows the need for more gun control. They also said they knew the suspect thought he was killing Muslims.

We all need to train up to and then maintain a certain level of person defense capabilities, especially in this Obama era.

Actually I suspect that its the other way around. The military recruits and is forced to overlook problematic recruits due to political correctness.

I’m sure the military uses the same scrutiny in screening for black kids who might join the Black Panthers, or Muslim kids who might attend radical mosques, and associate with jihadist groups. Anarchist and Nazi Democrats are probably the least of the military’s worries. Dees has faced criticism that he uses too much of the Southern Poverty Law Center's fundraising intake as personal income - and even accusations that the SPLC exists mostly as a fundraising vehicle. A 2000 article by Ken Silverstein in Harper's Magazine, titled "The Church of Morris Dees", alleged that Dees kept the SPLC focused on fighting anti-minority groups like the KKK, instead of on issues like homelessness, mostly because of the greater fundraising potential of the former.

I knew a pretty powerful Black Panther in the army and I was his student platoon leader, when we went into black bars in the impact area of Lawton, the first reaction would be for the bartender to get hostile because I am white, but after they talked business in the back room, my buddy got great respect, and usually was obviously feared, it was like what you imagine happens with a Mafia figure.

There was also plenty of Black Muslims in the military.

When I was in, black power and militancy was prevailing, at jump school in 1972 we were officially instructed to stay away from the EM club as it had been taken over by black power militants and anti-white violence.
