Sandra Fluke will introduce President Obama at a campaign event in Denver on Wednesday, a further sign that the incumbent's re-election team is putting a heavy emphasis on women's issues.
Fluke, a Georgetown student, testified before Congress earlier this year in favor of health insurance granting coverage of contraception.
Her stance was cheered by women's rights advocates and many on the left -- but denounced by conservative outlets, including the influential radio host.
Limbaugh slurred the 31-year-old student as a "slut" and a "prostitute," creating a frenzy that led some of his advertisers to abandon him.
While Limbaugh later apologized, his comments turned Fluke into the unlikely face of the birth control debate -- and prompted Obama to call her expressing concern.
"He encouraged me and supported me and thanked me for speaking out about the concerns of American women," Fluke said of the March phone call.

Debbie Wassermanslutz went on taxpayer funded NPR Sunday morning to make a Democrat campaign speech against Mitt Romney and even the host interjected “now that you’ve gotten the party talking points out of the way...” yet there was no GOP rebuttal.
She claimed that Mitt Romney WOULD overturn Roe v. Wade. The only ways to do that are Supreme Court decision (and there hasn’t been a case raised up that high to challenge it and Mitt would have no power to do so) or by Constitutional amendment.
Rats lie. Rats like killing babies. Rats like to blame other people for their acts.
Why do they persist in branding this woman a slut?
Does Fluke still maintain ANY credibility after heading to Europe with her rich deadbeat boyfriend after claiming SHE could not afford birth control and he is the one (presumably) boinking her?
Excellent point, and worth saying again for emphasis:
“She DID NOT testify before congress, she testified in front of a group of democrats who had a meeting and tried to make it look like a congressional hearing.”
The media lies and believes their own lies, and gets the general populace believing lies. It is a sad, sad thing.
