Former steel worker Joe Soptic has resurfaced in a new pro-Obama Super-PAC ad, blaming Romney for his wifes death from cancer.
I do not think Mitt Romney realizes what hes done to anyone, Soptic says in the ad. And furthermore I do not think Mitt Romney is concerned.
But Soptic is actually a familiar face on the anti-Bain beat, and accused Romney of this before.
Soptic was featured in an Obama ad in May, who explained that although he wasnt rich he was able to put his daughter through college.
In January, Soptic complained to Democracy Now, a liberal non-profit TV station, that when the steel company he worked for was bought out by Bain, they tried to buy out his job.
I guess the first thing I noticed that when the company was bought out by GST, They became very union non-friendly, they started looking for ways to eliminate jobs, Soptic said.

This would be a great story for Breitbart!! Heh...send in James O’Keefe...
That’s what I’ve been thinking all day. The loser didn’t even know is own wife was sick. If anybody is responsible for his wife’s death it’s him.
This is easily the creepiest ad dems have ever put out... it’s a new low. That’s saying a lot...
What kind of gratuity is he receiving for appearing in the ad?
Was he working in the steel mill that was failing when Bain bought it and kept it open trying to turn it around?
The shamelessness of the democrats is bottomless. No depth is too low for them as a party, including the destruction of the country that guaranteed their freedom.
So he was union? Where was the union taking care of him like they promise? And what job did he hold from 2001 when he was laid off until 2006 when his wife died?
Time do do some archive news searching.
"If you look at the steel companies that went under at the time, all of them were unionized," he said. "I'm not saying this was the only factor -- these firms faced other headwinds such as cheap labor and a strong dollar ... but the unions held them back."
Union officials blame the Bain managers for saddling the company with too much debt for a capital-intensive, cyclical industry such as steel.
Another liberal politicizing the death of a close family member. Maybe he could hook up with one of the Jersey Girls.
Anyone have Kansas City Star archive access?
Looks like he has been on the political circuit for a while.
The trouble is, Lawyers jump on any opportunity where deep pockets exist, to claim "negligence" or "cause/effect" bullshit, and their buddies on the Bench (former Lawyer co-horts) Rule in their favor.....
We need a do-over, BAD.
Just caught a bit of this with Erin Burnett on CNN. They have confirmed that the wife’s employer was her health care provider.
Won’t it be great when we have an ADULT in the Whitehouse??
Sounds like he needs to hook up with that flukey free contraceptives $ |_ |_| t.
Are you kidding me? This guy claims that she didn’t have health insurance??? Well he worked as a school janitor in a heavily unionized state...so BS Joe you are such a liar. Moreover the news reports earlier said this woman died 22 days after the cancer was first discovered ... This guy will say anything to look like a good dimm
That IS kind of creepy. Sort of like tradmarking your son’s name after his unfortunate death or something..
Joe Soptic, meet Greg Packer.
Good find. Joe not only killed his wife, he killed her by denying her the right to use her own insurance.
