The Onion is a well known parody site that posts fake headlines intended to amuse the reader.
But liberals actually believed the site when it posted a headline proclaiming that Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) said she was relieved that “not a single American died" in the tragic shooting at a Wisconsin Sikh temple, Twitchy reported Monday.
"Unbelievable," tweeted Ana Luiza Farias.
"What a cruel, evil thing to say!" another tweeted.
"This saddens & disgusts me," said another.
"Michele Bachman is one ignorant broad (sic)," another tweeted, while suggesting Bachmann be slapped.
Others called Bachmann stupid, while at least one compared her to Sarah Palin.

True, but plenty of FReepers have been sucked in by the same website.
You really ought to warn people about the site, not blog-pimp it. This is not just me bitching, as you can find a multitude of examples in past threads from this horrid site.
At the very least, if you must post from it, don't call it "News". It belongs in "Bloggers".

To be fair I’ve seen plenty of freepers get sucked in with an Onion article. John Semmens never fails to get a few also.
Yeah, but Sarah Palin is associated with a line uttered by a comedian in a SNL skit. Now it is what moderates know her by. Liberals will not be hurt by this stunt. Bachmann will be. The bell cannot be unrung and the media/liberals have no interest is repairing the misconception.
Don’t laugh too hard. I often wonder how many Freepers go screeching to folks when they read the lates “Semi news-semi satire” post. By some of the comments they leave, you can tell they don’t read the “humor” tags.
The onion is really pretty funny. SIL got hit with an article yesterday.
Bachmann should give a reply asking the critics to look into a mirror and ask the mirror if that person being seen could actually be as stupidly gullible to make such comments.
They are gullible enough to be fooled and stupid enough to vote for Barry.
