He probably didn’t even tell his daughter. His own statements tell us that he was not paying any attention to his own finances, so he wasn’t even smart enough to let his daughter know!

Maybe the daughter feel like she entitled for tutition money or finanical aid

I know lots of young people who feel that life owe them something
