Posted on 08/08/2012 8:39:00 PM PDT by Dan Zachary
On Frances TF1 in early May, Smith explained why he supported the idea of paying higher taxes, saying, "I have no issue with paying taxes and whatever needs to be done for my country to grow. I believe very firmly that my ability to sit here -- I'm a black man who didn't go to college, yet I get to travel around the world and sell my movies, and I believe very firmly that America is the only place on Earth that I could exist. So I will pay anything that I need to pay to keep my country growing."
The interviewer then said, Do you know how much in France you would have to pay on earnings above 1 million euros [French President Francois Hollande's proposal]? Not 30 percent 75 percent.
At that point, Smith said, 75? Yeah, that's different, that's different. Yeah, 75. Well, you know, God bless America.

You have to check out Zo! going after the Fresh Prince.
He should pay 90% I mean he already made enough money at least that’s what Obama says and he supports Obama
so shut up and pay Will.
That guy in the video must be racist for talking about Obama the way he does....wait, he’s black??? Crap, nothing to see here, please move along.
You know he is going to vote for the “Fresh Prince of Bill Ayers” again.
Remember that scene in the movie,,,, was it Breastmen?,,,, where the one guy comes up to his partner, on a putting green, and he bitches about how much taxes they’re paying? And they both collapse in laughter? They were making so much money, that the taxes didn’t mean anything to them?
Massive tax increases on Hollywood are in order: Federal excise taxes on every movie ticket/download and an end to the legendary crooked book-keeping.
I love Will, but in this matter, he’s an idiot.
Shut up and pay up Will, you sanctimonious bastard, you owe US government that money!
“So I will pay anything that I need to pay to keep my country growing”
1. Will, how does paying taxes make your country grow??
2. You were exposed as a lying sack of shit once you found out about the 75% tax rate!
Haven’t seen the movie. In fact, have not been to a movie theater since I took my son to see Lion King. These Hollywood limosine liberals get very little of my money. If a movie looks real good I rent it at Redbox, otherwise I wait to see it on television.

So, why aren't you doing it, "Fresh Prince"?
Yeah? Well,,,, I haven’t been to the theater since the first Star Wars movie! If something comes on tv, I might watch it.
He’s a joke and a pathetic one at that.
Hey Will, you didn’t build that. Spread the wealth around.
I’m sure the Govt. wouldn’t refuse Will if he added a couple of zero’s to his tax payment. Why do these idiots say they don’t pay their fair share - when in fact they can write a check to the IRS and pay what they feel is right. Double up baby!
They don’t really want to pay more, they want YOU to pay more.
Right. He’s just talking out his ass and this will get a lot of mileage with the dumbmasses who hang on his every hollywierd word.
So pay it and shut up. Just don’t prescribe what anyone else should pay.
He ought to talk to the guy he played in The Pursuit of Happiness.
I love Zo!
He kickx all sorts of ass.
kickx = kicks
Too much Scotch.
Nice one, and yes he will.
Because he knows he's first in line to play Bobo in the inevitable rushed biopic...
He replies: "We have already agreed on that we are now just negotiating the price."
There is always a line. Sadly this will not have the desired effect on Will Smith.
I remember when George Harrison’s song “Taxman” came out, and Harrison was quoted as saying he knew he had to pay high taxes, but 95% was totally ridiculous. He was then savaged in the rock press by the morons who said he was being greedy for not wanting to pay 95%. That’s the way these people look at things. I would bet most bleeding-heart, uber-rich lib celebs put their money tax shelters or overseas accounts as soon as humanly possible.
Most folks don't realize that the line in the song "that's one for you, nineteen for me", was actually the reality of their tax rate.
Idiots abound in HollyWeed.
Let me tell you how it will be
There’s one for you, nineteen for me
‘Cause I’m the taxman, yeah, I’m the taxman
Should five per cent appear too small
Be thankful I don’t take it all
‘Cause I’m the taxman, yeah I’m the taxman
If you drive a car, I’ll tax the street,
If you try to sit, I’ll tax your seat.
If you get too cold I’ll tax the heat,
If you take a walk, I’ll tax your feet.
Don’t ask me what I want it for
If you don’t want to pay some more
‘Cause I’m the taxman, yeah, I’m the taxman
> I believe very firmly that my ability to sit here — I’m a black man who didn’t go to college, yet I get to travel around the world and sell my movies, and I believe very firmly that America is the only place on Earth that I could exist.
A 75 percent tax on the entertainment industry (and at least 75 percent of them are libs) sounds like a sound idea. Thanks Dan Zachary.
