Yes, vote fraud’s real

The vote of one idiot can cancel out the vote of a single genius — such is the glory of our one-man, one-vote system. But what about the vote of an illegal alien? The deceased? Or a convicted felon? Should they be allowed to spoil the electoral process — and perhaps change history?

And why — in the name of “civil rights” — is Attorney General Eric Holder using the power of the Justice Department to hamstring states trying to put a stop to voter fraud by requiring a secure ID in order to vote?

The answer is clear: In an election that promises to be every bit as close as Bush v. Gore in 2000, each side is going to need every vote it can get. And one way, historically, that Democrats have been able to swing close elections is through fraud. Consider:

* In the 2004 Washington state governor’s race, the Republican’s early lead was overcome by the miraculous discovery of previously uncounted ballots squirreled away in the Democratic stronghold of Seattle, handing the election to the Democrat.

* In the close governor’s race in Connecticut in 2010, a mysterious shortage of ballots in Bridgeport kept the polls open an extra two hours as allegedly blank ballots were photocopied and handed out in the heavily Democratic city. Dannel Malloy defeated Republican Tom Foley by nearly 7,000 votes statewide — but by almost 14,000 votes in Bridgeport.

* Now a new book — “Who’s Counting?” by John Fund and Hans von Spakovsky — charges that Al Franken’s 2008 defeat of incumbent Republican Sen. Norm Coleman may be directly attributable to felons voting illegally.

Failure of Eric Holder’s DOJ to investigate voter fraud is a big deal. Without Al-Franken’s election through fraud, no Obamacare.

Once the vote is no longer considered sacred and protected from fraud, the contract between the legislators and the people is broken since the people can only be assured of true representation with fair elections.

Paint on fingers, voter IDs, voting should be as hard as opening a bank account.

States can put an end to all of this complaining about not being able to get an ID before voting by simply offering to provide ID's at the polling place on the day of voting.
Potentials would need to bring several kinds of proof of ID, such as a canceled check to a utility or say a property tax payment. Or a Social Security check stub.
Things of that sort and they could be issued a temp ID on the day of voting and be mailed the permanent one with a photo taken at the polls.
The States can then cross reference ID's and weed out fraud.

But, but, but they NEED vote fraud to win. Illegals, felons and the deceased, along with all the unemployed are the Dems voter base! Without voter fraud, and complicity from a lapdog Media, the Dems would never win anything. And they completely control the ‘justice’ in this country now, so they will tell you what is just and what is not! Now go drink more Kool-aid, immediately!

I think the issue is more fundamental than combating actual vote fraud: we as a people need to show that there can not be vote fraud, that there be the appearance of validity of the process. For if there can be fraud, odds are there will be fraud, detectable or not. For every foolproof system, the vacuum will be filled with better fools.

I propose harmonizing ID requirements for citizens. We need to show ID at the airport gate. We need to show ID when we pay for items with a check. We need to show ID before going into a government building. (Hey! How do welfare applicants get into the buildings to file their forms if they don't have ID?)

The need for ID is already ingrained into our society, Constitutional or not. All that I'm saying is that the rules should be uniform. What's good enough to gain access to Attorney General Holder's office, or President Obama's office, or an airplane seat, should be good enough for our polling places.

So harmonize the ID requirement. Either way: banish the ID check, or institute it for polling places.

If it were up to me, I would require each and every voter show a personal tax return (1040 issue) with a positive taxable amount due -- and an indication that the taxpayer is a citizen -- in order to vote, but that's just me.

To hell with that. People need picture IDs for their day to day life. You can’t cash checks, buy alcohol, go the doctor, and sometimes they even check them for credit cards. Someone who claims not to have a picture ID is probably trying to commit vote fraud.
If they have not bothered to get a picture ID by the day of the election, THEY SHOULD NOT VOTE.

The really sad part is that Federal government has become so powerful, and so intrusive that it cannot be safely ignored.

In a sane society, the Federal government could be ignored almost every day and a election would be of little importance. You might have to pay attention to the local and state government, but the Feds would be the “echelons beyond reality” dealing with things unlikely to have any immediate effect on you.
