White House mum on reported new Iran nukes warning

The White House refused to comment Thursday on a bombshell Israeli media report that President Barack Obama recently received an updated intelligence assessment that Iran has made surprising strides towards being able to build a nuclear weapon.

The Haaretz newspaper reported that Obama had received a new National Intelligence Estimate (NIE)—the consensus assessment of the American intelligence community—that "Iran has made surprising, notable progress in the research and development of key components of its military nuclear program." The daily cited unnamed "Western diplomats and Israeli officials." Asked about the report, White House press secretary Jay Carney replied: "I don't comment on intelligence matters or intelligence reports the president may or may not have received." ...... "We are leading an international effort to impose upon Iran what even the Iranian president has identified as the most stringent sanctions ever imposed on any country," Carney said. "And that effort is designed of what we believe remains to be a window of opportunity to persuade Iran through these sanctions and through diplomatic efforts to forgo its nuclear weapons ambitions and live to its international obligations." He added that "hardly a week goes by" without the economic vise tightening further.

Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak told Israeli Radio that there was "apparently a report by American intelligence agencies" that was "making the rounds of high offices" and has heightened American worries about Iran's nuclear program.

"As far as we know, it comes very close to our own estimate, I would say, as opposed to earlier American estimates. It transforms the Iranian situation to an even more urgent one, and it is even less likely that we will know every development in time on the Iranian nuclear program," Barak said, according to a CBS report on the interview.

Mutually Assured Destruction (MAD) kept Russia and the US from having a nuclear war, which mostly the Russians were tempted to do several times.

It is time to “enlarge the MAD umbrella”.

For example, let us succinctly say to the world that, “If Iran *attempts* to use a nuclear weapon against *anyone*, then the US will “sterilize” the entire nation of Iran.”

“Every single person in Iran, and all animals, will die from high speed neutrons (neutron bombs), and those deep underground will be incinerated.”

“And then, since Iran will have all its buildings and treasures intact, just being empty of people and animals, then whoever Iran attacked with a nuclear weapon will be given all that remains as reparations.”

“If Iran attacks Israel, then what is now the nation of Iran will become a second Israel, for Israelis to do with as they please. The Iranian people outside of Iran will live only as exiles in other nations, never again to set foot in what had been Iran.”

“All holy sites in Iran will be razed and Iran will cease being a Muslim nation.”

Are we clear, Iran?

These folks don’t appear to have anything to do with intelligence.

Al-Qaeda affiliates are moving toward taking over Syria and unstable Pakistan has a significant nuclear arsenal in place and we’re supposed to be worried about Iran getting one bomb. I wish our government would worry less about an at most secondary threat from Iran and instead worry about the real danger to America- the movement that killed thousands of Americans eleven years ago in New York, the Pentagon and Pennsylvania.

“Are we clear, Iran?”

Actually, no. MAD worked because the Russians are basically a Christian culture like the United States used to be. (We still are, but it’s fading fast.) The Russians did not ascribe to an apocalyptic world view where dying was better than living. Also, Russia’s leaders probably averaged 75. Conquering the world for God (Allah, Behilzabub, or whoever) is a young man’s game. The average Russian leader was concerned about his status, his privileges and his hemorrhoids. An Iranian Ayatollah with the bomb will slowly pull it and use it while you watch. You can’t threaten somebody like that.

“surprising strides” my butt.

They never stopped their research. The traitorous twinks who wrote and leaked the false 2003 NIE that forced Bush to stay his hand should be stood against a wall. No blindfold.

Nothing will be done about iran while the muslim in chief is still in office. Even if a nuclear device was detonated on US soil, all obama would do is apologize for the US being imperialists. Such a scenario would work out well for obama and his fascist lackeys.

It is wise not to underestimate the Persians. Historically they are very xenophobic, but also no slouches when it comes to strategy. As proof of this, look how effective they have been in pulling the wool over the eyes of naive Europeans and many Americans.

One of their tactics is to have any number of subordinates send up “trial balloons”, radical ideas likely to cause a strong response. If their enemies react strongly to one, then they can disavow it and claim the subordinate had no authority to say that. By doing this they can measure the character of their enemies.

Yet they also retain their clarity. For example, they knew Jimmy Carter was a putz, so they played him as a sucker for two years. But Reagan was crystal clear to them, so the minute he took office, they returned the hostages and were suddenly all peace and light, very confident that he would kick their ass if they tried it on with him.

Yes, the Mullahs are stupid and belligerent, and Nutjob himself belongs to an apocalyptic cult, but power in Tehran is divided among many, in odd ways. For example, one of the more radical factions in their parliament are religious reactionaries—who are also nuclear physicists. Go figure.

For this reason, the clarity of MAD might punch through the haze. And if enough of their leaders realize what this threat really means, they will sit on the fanatics.

Any nuke exchange will likely be preceded by EMP strikes. Something to think about. Another thing to think about. Those strikes would be most likely to happen, when the debt buildup falls (bond collapse, repudiation of debt and so on).

Oh...yet another. The mullahs have said through their puppet that they desire to have millions in Islamist casualties in their own land to ignite the Mooselimb world and all of that.

Have fun. Enjoy the slide. Folks won’t be so politically correct on the other side.

The soviets lost more people in the world wars than any country. It was believed by our analysts that they didn’t have the stomach for a nuclear war which would see their top ten cities destroyed.

The Iranians are led by religious fanatics who have stated it is their moral obligation to bring about the end of the world.

We should take the Iranians statements at face value and slap them down.
