Yikes: Obama Suggests We Bail Out Every Struggling Industry
Townhall.com ^ | August 9, 2012 | Katie Pavlich

Bailouts for everyone! That's the latest push coming from President Barack Obama's lips. During a campaign event in Colorado today, Obama touted his "successful" bailout of the auto industry.

President Obama, while villifying Mitt Romney for opposing the auto industry bailout, bragged about the success of his decision to provide government assistance and said he now wants to see every manufacturing industry come roaring back.

“I said, I believe in American workers, I believe in this American industry, and now the American auto industry has come roaring back,” he said. “Now I want to do the same thing with manufacturing jobs, not just in the auto industry, but in every industry.

Mitt could really distance himself from W’s idiotic 2007 mandates for wind and ethanol by vowing to repeal those, too.

Why not just give every man, woman and child a million dollars... it’s quicker. The next morning the country would be broke - our money worthless... and Obama wouldn’t have to wait months and months to destroy everything.

We already know there is no lie too big for Obama to tell and no amount of lies too many for him to tell.

What remains to be seen is if there is no lie too big, or no lies too many, for the American people to swallow hook, line and sinker.

I know, I know, Bush's fault!

Why is everyone focusing on the 2nd part of the statement? I didn't make it past the 1st part. Roaring back? ha ha ha ha GM profits fell 42% in 2Q of 2012!! People aren't buying anything BECAUSE of Barack Hussein Obama's imposed overhead and constraints on the economy

Hey, let's go for it, my business could use a few bucks.

Just one thing, though - I really don't want to manufacture anything.
I just want to suck out all the stimulus money, close the doors and lay everyone off, then disappear like your Solyndra cronies...

Raw, unchecked socialism is spewing out.

An American who votes for this Communist should have to take a citizenship test afterwards. Failing it gets his citizenship yanked.

He wins again I’m all for “his” help but we’ll take ours in gold & silver bars.

You can't compete against foreign labor, period. If you get in bed with the devil, expect to get screwed. Outsourcing the means of production was the best ploy the socialists came up with, and it worked beyond all of their expectations. Send all of the work to a far away land, and create a government welfare dependant class of former workers on top of it. Dismantling our industrial infrastructure was the greatest feat that the socialists achieved. Don't believe me? If china stopped shipping stuff to us tomorrow, this country would grind to a halt by the end of the week.

He is pro gay, pro ugly women, pro commie, pro islamic terrorists, pro Israel, pro war, pro peace, pro stimulus, pro business, pro union, pro illegal immigrants, pro border protection, pro cutting spending, pro shovel ready jobs, pro free healthcare, pro taxes, and now he is going to bail out every business like he saved GM. Think we will ever see that 50B again? Why so many people do not see through this fraud I don’t know. But Mittenss better find his voice soon, or name Christie his running mate so SOMEONE can articulate something. What a joke.

Ah, the socialist dream. Raise taxes to pay for all these bailouts to the point where we just turn over all our income to the state, and they "bail out" - ie. control all the means of production. (formerly known as companies)

Didn't a number of communist Countries try this for decades and fail miserably?

Hot Dang! Now my chance to get rich off of the taxpayer like a hotshot RAT. I've got an idea for a renewable energy cook stove (5 gallon bucket with lid and some holes and some scrap wood). For around 500 million I could skip the buying of a factory and hiring of workers (except for family of course) and go straight to bankruptcy after making the required 50% campaign donations.

Best things you can do, Mr. President, are to cut corporate taxes and regulations. US business and workers will do the rest. But of course that doesn't square with the "control agenda" of you Fascists.

32 posts so far, and nobody dares mention that Obama is supporting US jobs.

He’s doing it backwards. And upside down. And he’ll cause more damage this way than with anything else.

But he’s supporting US jobs.

Where are we on this issue? I’m for US jobs.

I’m for US jobs too, but simply propping up failing businesses is no solution. We’ve seen Obama startups like Solyandra run through their grants & guaranteed loans only to close the doors and lay everybody off.

The broader economy needs relief from an energy policy that is causing $4 gas. The economy needs relief from onerous regulations from OSHA & EPA. The average American consumer needs tax relief, so that they have disposable income.

Thanks for responding, but I suggest seriously we take it about 5 steps further than that.

China is protectionist. Seriously so.

There is (zero) reason for China to be protectionist.

As China rises, this will become an increasing problem. Already is in fact.

We need to do something NOW about China’s future. Make a decision as they say.

Either China opens up and joins the world. Or China goes it alone.

One or the other.

We’ve played half-way on China for too long.

Make a decision.

Meanwhile our side, should begin moving factories out of China.

Every once in a blue moon he leaves the door cracked open for us to see who he really is. He is a marxist, a statist who has usurped 18% of the economy by taking over health care. He nationalized the banks and GM. Now he unzips his fly and we see him for the desire of national takeover of every damn buisness in the country. If the people of this country can not now see what he is we as a nation will never be able to reconstitute a Constitutional Republic.

Romney ought to be on this like a duck on a Junebug. I have not heard a word from him.

The greatest source of job loss in the country has been mechanization, automation, computerization, robotics and improved work methods.

I'm just old enough to remember when we had clerk/typists in the US government. Today every analyst, officer, manager, executive ~~~~~ had better know how to use a computer to write his own stuff.

I saw a truck engine plant I used to work in taken from 5,000 employees down to about 500 employees (over 30 years) and actually increase it's truck engine production volume.

None of those jobs went overseas ~ they simply disappeared!

Despite much criticism, some well deserved, the Romney campaign appears to be fairly well disciplined and will make devastating use of this admission by Odumbo of his plans, like his recent self-destructive “you didn’t build that” clarification of his view on American entrepreneurship. The war chest is building - our Dear Reader’s mind is being played by the Romney campaign so he will continue to make these crazy statements as he grasps for anything that he thinks might excite his useful idiots, but which thinking people will see through when the real campaign begins (God help us have enough voters that take a few minutes to actually consider what another Obama term would mean).

This ‘joker’ gets me more confused every day.

Wasn’t the function of Bain to use money to prop up failing companys, those that couldn’t ‘keep up’ went under and those that were able survived.

The big difference here is that Bain used his own INVESTORS money.

Now ‘we’ are supposed to vilify Romney for earning a living by making investments work and the weak fell by the wayside. AGAIN the only difference is that BO wants to do it using OUR money and I would like to see a list of these companies he wants to save....How many do you think are Non-Union.
